So I was having a chat with a fellow corolla owner, and he informed me of a reasonable condition KE36 sitting at, of all places, the dump...and he said they wanted to sell it.

Now they wanted $700, and my mate told me he had talked them down to $400.

I told him he shouldn't have told me about this, as for some reason, no matter what or where or when or how I am told about a corolla....I usually end up owning it within a week.

Which is exactly what happened AGAIN.

After a terrible experience at motor registry 8| asshole pieces of shit that work there!! ....................anyways, I decided to head out to have a look at this wagon.

Now I have wanted a KE36 for a long time, but not been keen to pay alot, mostly because I am a tight ass, but anyways, I thought $400 isn't too bad (I'd seen a pic on my mates phone).

So I get out there, and it's pretty good, no rust in the back, both front guards have rust holes (easy fix), interior is black and in neat enough condition to be comfy.

Start it up...it runs, just. Needs a good tune and some customised Geoff tuning, which basically consists of a few 10/10 tunes, (which for those of us unfamiliar with a 10/10 tune, is...10 thousand RPM for 10 seconds :hmm: )

Being a KE36, it's only the small block :( (3K) but that's easily fixed....I decided I would buy it.

So I find the guy working there and ask how much, and he said that he told a guy $400 the other day, and I go....WOW $400...man it's a bit rough....and he goes, how about $300...and I said I'm thinking more like $200....and he agrees.

It has 19 days rego, should be enough time to get it passed to put in my name....

So here begins the tale of Wagon 'O' Death....or Wagsy for short. My first ever Corolla wagon ;)

Only one pic thus far...will take interior pics etc soon.

I'd say there is a fair chance it will get lowered with some mags to be honest....

I believe this will also be my first attempt at painting a car. I will have to decide which car will get the CA18, and I am leaning towards the 55...so this will more than likely end up with the 5K and 5 Speed in it....Then a general tidy up, and I'll have to think of something to make this one stand out a little from the crowd....and see what happens from there.

I need a rear bar too, gunna see if I can find one new.

Get f@$ked! I saw this this at the dump, and wanted it! I asked the bloke if it was for sale and he no.

Now i know why, some other bastard bought it!

Good luck to ya.

Bastard....

I bought it an hour after I first saw it...So unless you happened to go in there in between me looking at it and coming back to pick it up...it wasn't me.

My mate looked at it, actually now that I think about it, yeah he had put a deposit on it....but he went and got it back.

You should have let me have that yellow coupe instead of you having it....then I'd be dealing with the holey firewall, and you would have this wagon 8|

Since selling my KE55, I have a bit of cash to spend on Wagsy....First thing I need is a new ignition...since the car came with no keys, and one of my keys just happened to fit it....it falls out, so will fail rego. As the car came with no keys, I am unable to unlock the drivers door from the outside, fortunately my coupe key fits the passenger door, but I am sick of getting in that way, so I am getting door locks also. My coupe key also fits the tail gate, but I will see if a locksmith can change it to suit the new door/ignition keys.

I have put the steering wheel off the KE55 on also, but have changed nothing else since buying the car.

I will take a stack of pics....of "before the transformation" and post them up.

I got a "pre-rego" inspection, and was quite happy with the results....there isn't too much wrong with the little beast.

It desperately needs more power though, so I will be in search of a cheap 5K, and then promptly stuffing boost up it's ass :lolcry:

I've got a set of wagon locks at home Geoff, only diff from the sedan is the tailgate one is a button aswell. I've just bought another new set, so I don't need these.......hang on, you weren't bidding on ebay on some locks the other night were you? fordvanman80 or something!?

Think I might even have the matching ignition barrel with the wagon locks! I'll have a look when I get home and let you know! :hmm: ~

BTW - :lolcry: at the 10/10 tune

I know the locks are the same, I have been right through the "nice" catalogue....plus I have enough corollas to recognise the locks anyway, But I have no ignitions that the key doesn't come out of...I already have the locks on order....my coupe key fits the tail gate lock, so it locks and unlocks good. Nah I wasn't bidding on locks on ebay...how much did they go for out of interest? I'll see if I get them as cheap from my mate.

I vote MORE PICS!!

More pics are coming....gimme a break, do you not realise how incredibly lazy I am?

Think I probably ended up paying too much frankley!! :lolcry: Got out bid in the last minute and got the "you aren't beating me cobba" attitude, ya know how it is! Final price was $47.

Spose it doesn't matter if you've ordered more, but yeah I got a full set - ignition, doors, and push button tailgate. Could have them for postage cost. Key does come out of the ignition one, but needs a bit of a tug.
