MYSTIK[RL] Posted February 23, 2012 Author Report Posted February 23, 2012 (edited) not finished, not tuned, but using someone else's CAS to get it tuned atm, the ECU decided it would only read 22 of the 24 teeth in the CAS, but in saying that i need a new CAS, as the 2 missing teeth are nubs  so I'm in the market for another GZE CAS, or i may have to resort to modding a GE dizzy. MYSTIK[RL] Posted March 21, 2012 Author Report Posted March 21, 2012 (edited) ok so i didnt have to mod a GE dizzy, just pulled the guts out of one and put it into the GZE CAS, same same really, last i heard on friday was the real tuning was about to begin. one bad thing though i was told there is a small amount of oil smoke at idle, so me thinks the oil seals in the turbo may be on the way out :| but its not critical at the moment, so i will either be rebuilding or going to a t28 at a later date. also some more new parts lobbed at my place yesterday in the form of the adjustable coilovers. will let pics do the talking slime green anyone? camber tops front back then really need to purchase some polyurethane bushes and get them installed at the same time. :P Edited March 21, 2012 by MYSTIK Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted March 26, 2012 Author Report Posted March 26, 2012 (edited) well the turbo has a smoking problem, so it no been pulled off and sent away hopefully it is just an undersized non genuine seal that caused the problems, also going to look at changing the rear housing from a 0.64 to a 0.48 for better response as its going to be a mostly street driven in the near future. will know much more tomorrow Edited March 26, 2012 by MYSTIK Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted March 29, 2012 Author Report Posted March 29, 2012 well its in pieces again, turbo decided it didnt like itself and started pissing smoke out while it was idling due to the cheap chinese internals (not my words, the place where I'm having rebuild said this) destroying the seals, so now its getting a rebuild with new genuine garrett shaft, turbines etc etc and slightly smaller exhaust housing so it will come on boost earlier. so hopefully be back together tomorrow and possibly running and the tune continued during the next week. on the a good note though it was tuning beautifully though until this set back Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted April 22, 2012 Author Report Posted April 22, 2012 hmmm 4 weeks on and i finally found a ca18det exhaust housing for the turbo, so it should be back together and hopefully being tuned to suit new housing ;) so I'm maybe looking at a couple of weeks to a month at the most, before i get to take it for its first cruise of fury :ninja: Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted April 27, 2012 Author Report Posted April 27, 2012 "ahem" i officailly drove the seca for the first time in 2012 today it was only around the block but my god is it smooth to drive, even smoother then when it had the n/a motor in it should be getting it back next friday, as there is a few loose ends to fix, ie. tacho, indicators small stuff Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted May 4, 2012 Author Report Posted May 4, 2012 ok, so the seca is home picture will follow later tonight or tomorrow. couple of little issues :- 1st: the current tacho wont ever work with the haltech, not a big deal, apparently a gze tacho swapped into the cluster should sort the issue 2nd: cold start issues, which can be sorted with a new set of injectors, and a retune (+ bigger fuel pump, new exhaust and increase in boost) will sort fix this issue but other than that its making 118kw @ 6750 on 7psi which isnt to shabby in my books Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted May 4, 2012 Author Report Posted May 4, 2012 118kW! nice. its not to shabby since the current exhaust is the same press bend one that was on the car when it was n/a Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted June 5, 2012 Author Report Posted June 5, 2012 ok a little update: have purchased some 550cc bosch ev14 3/4 height injectors + spacers and uscar plugs, walbro fuel pump, and a full set of poly urethane bushes, now all i need to do is wait for then to arrive and the its time chuck all these into the seca along with the fortune auto adjustable coilovers, and get a new 2.5 inch exhaust built, and throw it back on the dyno for some more tuning/checking and see what numbers it shows. Quote
MYSTIK[RL] Posted June 15, 2012 Author Report Posted June 15, 2012 Ok, small update, injectors, fuel pump, bushes, and coilovers all in. Exhaust, wheel alignment and tune monday and a couple of crappy phone pics of what is possibly the final ride height yes i know crappy phone pics at night, i promise i will get some better ones once i get it back home so the injector issue i was having is now sorted, and the cold start tune will be alot nicer plus i wont have to let the car idle until it gets up to temp. MYSTIK[RL] Posted June 22, 2012 Author Report Posted June 22, 2012 she was in the dyno tonight being tuned, sounded so damn nice, i had to leave before the tuning was finished so fingers crossed i can pick it up tomorrow at some stage. Quote
Twinky Posted June 22, 2012 Report Posted June 22, 2012 How much does Brenton ask for a tune these days? When I get a bit more boost I'd like to take my car to him as more power did a crappy tune when I had it done there. Quote

When I get a bit more boost I'd like to take my car to him as more power did a crappy tune when I had it done there. not sure what he charges for a tune alone, as i always have had work where the tune needed adjusting/checking. ok it now makes 145 atw @ 6500 on 12psi, which i know can be improved with more tweaks to the tune and boost increase to around the 16psi range suspension is firm and responds nicely, barely a hint of torque steer now that i have a decent wheel alignment. SLO-030 Posted June 25, 2012 Report Posted June 25, 2012 (edited) Massive props to Dale for an awesome car. Drove an hour to come down and catch up and take me for a spin in the beast. All I can say is "......" nothing, just a cheesy grin on my face as boost comes on and wheelspin ensues. Can't wait till we can compare it to what's coming out of the workshop in the future ;) Edited June 25, 2012 by SLO-030 Quote
