Brismo Posted August 19, 2014 Report Posted August 19, 2014 Hey man, I don't particularly like necroing threads in forums, especially forums i'm new too, but, I have an ae82 liftback, and am considering getting King Springs Super lows (2" drop), the same that I believe you have, and I was just wondering.. Did you need to change your bumpstops at all???? PS. First post, woowoo! PPS. I have actually been stalking these forums for ages. :P Quote
carbonboy Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 We haven't seen webers around the forums for a while, but in answer to your question, the bumpstops will only need changing if they are flogged out. Which will happen with KS Super Lows as I found out the hard way, also bear in mind the springs will most likely not be captive. 1 Quote

And also, what bump stops did you use to replace them??? Quote
carbonboy Posted August 20, 2014 Report Posted August 20, 2014 By not captive, it means that if you jack the car up & the shocks/springs are fully extended, the springs will not be held in place but will be loose & can potentially fall out of position. The same thing can happen going over bumps on the road. I used standard replacement bumpstops, available as a kit with dust boots etc from most auto-parts stores. 1 Quote
