Hiro Protagonist Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 If you want to know something about KEs, then here is pretty damn good. So is Toymods, but there is a core of KE owners common to both forums. If you want to know anything about any other Toyota, then go to Toymods, especially for RWD Celicas and Supras. Sure the signup can be a bit invasive and annoying, but that is designed to weed out the n00bs, trolls and keyboard warriors. They also restrict access to certain parts of the forums for several reasons, mainly security and to stop people whoring the For Sale section as a free classifieds. If you are genuinely interested in being a pro-active and productive member of the Toymods community, then be prepared to work for it. No-one there likes an ass-hat or keyboard warrior, but if you tough it out without insulting or annoying anyone then you should get along fine. Patience is definitely a virtue. If you have any issues with your signup process, wait a little while (they get a shed-load of applications and there are only a few people to process them), and if nothing happens then email one of the board members and they should be able to point you in the right direction. Oh, and if you're worried about the whole "need 30 rep to post in the classifieds" thing, I've been a member for about a year and a half now, and I've just kicked over 700 rep. Make useful contributions and it will go up. Be an idiot and expect it to plummet. Quote
Nitephyre Posted October 25, 2007 Report Posted October 25, 2007 As Hiro said, you need 30 or so rep points before you get access. I've been on Toymods for the same time I've been here and frankly I don't understand the animosity. It's a great resource for a broad range of Toyota's and also general info. But, each to their own *shrug* Quote

irokin Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 Hey hey, I drive a Toyota more than I drive my Nissan... It just happens to be that a car on track suspension with tyres worth $400ea and last all of 2000km as well as a seat worth $1300 and sucking premium at a rate of 23L/100km isn't a very practical car to drive to work every day. Not to say I don't like driving it.....god I love that car! In other news my Bilstein setup should show up soon :D:D But theres always a negative... apparently they (wolf) couldn't find anything wrong with my Wolf 3D so its about as useful to me as a $2000 brick (grr f@$ken!!!). Anyone wanna buy it? Quote
love ke70 Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 my point is, you have no interest in toymods because you modify the arse out of the nissan, rather than the toyota. i only use toymods to talk shit in the ke corolla thread, buy stuff, and to learn about the evilz 1g Quote
irokin Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 ....good point I spose. There may be something in the works for the rolls. She needs a bit of a major overhaul and a new motor but I still don't feel the need to go through the rigmarole of signing up to toymods. Why bother when I can get all the info I need right here? Quote
love ke70 Posted October 30, 2007 Report Posted October 30, 2007 who on here can tell you about the oil flow issues of a 1g? or if you put an sr20 in it, who on here can tell you the issues they have, having gone through them personally? if your 4age-ing the ke, then yes, here is plenty good enough. its the in depth tech that i find different. not saying one is better, just more tech heads over there...
