Howdy kids...

Just ripped the engine out of one of my growing fleet of KE70s, and it appears to be a 4K-U. Never noticed before...

I've read the FAQ and gleaned a bit of info on the differences between it and a 4K-C, but I'm looking for a bit more detail.

Are they particularly rare? Should I keep it and build it up?

Cheers

PLEASSSSSSSEEEEEEEE Sell me the pushrods lol.....

i am DESPERATE.

From what i know, they are a 4k thats got heavier emitions stuff on them, or had on them, or was ment to from japan. I think they make a little Less power than the standard Ke70 4kc's we got here.

Yeah its got the little 'warning use extra long sparking plug' sticker on it. Doesn't have the electric dizzy but I think that may have been swapped.

Doesn't really surprise me that it's the dished piston engine, the damn thing hammers more than any other K I've driven... I swapped the nikki for a weber, chucked some headers on and it just sings all the way to 9 grand...

I agree, I've found that the dished piston 4k's go a lot harder than normal 4k's as well.

Probably came into australia through a jap engine importers at some stage.

This sounds a lot like the engine thats in my ke35 at the mo.

But mine has next to no emissiions stuff on it at all. mines got a bosch dizzy, but i'm struggling to find the right rotor and cap. seams different to the standard bosch dizzy.

Has it got the cap which is smaller in diameter at the top than at the base? If so just replace the button and cap with the more normal wider one.
