camerondownunder88 Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 Actually REAL German beer wont expire. They have a law made so long ago it is older than the pyramids. But all beer over there can only be made with 4 ingredients no more no less. So they are the normal hops etc those 4. So German beer will go on for ages. BUT when I was last at the XXXX brewery tour for my 4th time :lolcry: they said they put "additives " in the beer so it will only last 6months tops. So most modern USA/ Aussie beer and other drinks wont last long. But German beer will. That is why German beer is so AWESOME no additives artificial flavors or anything mmmmm Cameron Quote

7shades Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 (edited) Not all wine should be aged either... in fact most reds aren't made to mature. Optimum drinking time is 2-4 years after bottling. The ones that ARE suitable for aging usually have it written on the bottle somewhere. GF works in a bottle shop :lolcry: yay for discount booze EDIT: Oh yeah german beer is the shiz. Oktoberfest next weekend w00t!!!! Edited October 19, 2007 by 7shades Quote

Jono Posted October 19, 2007 Report Posted October 19, 2007 on the topic of beer, anyone noticed the huge difference between the imported BECKS and locally brewed BECKS? Quote
7shades Posted October 20, 2007 Report Posted October 20, 2007 YES.... completely different beer! I help organise oktoberfest up here every year and we import kegs of becks ourselves... and man, is it better. Quote
andro0o Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 Wine obviously lasts if its sealed. actually wines corks and goes bad... its not jsut if its sealed, it has alot to do with where its kept. Quote
Jono Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 some people pay a small fortune to get there bottles opened, checked and re-corked. Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted October 22, 2007 Report Posted October 22, 2007 Not all beer has a used-by date...... Got to love Coopers Vintage, best after at least a year of storage, I've got some 2007 Vintage stashed away at the moment for consumption late next year Quote
