HIGH ROLLER Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 Spoke to an engineer today, he informed me that for wheel width you can only go 1inch more than the biggest available wheels from factory. anyone got any stories, tips, tricks or ANYTHING! i don't want to be running 16x5's...HAHAHAHA But it has to be legal... cheers fellas Quote
Des Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 If it has to be legal LISTEN TO YOUR ENGINEER. Not that mine are legal but anyway. Quote
dfunkt Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 you could probably check out the legislation for your state somewhere online. or you could get an engineer's certificate for whatever wheels you want on it. Quote

No, An engineer will not do a mod plate for massive wheels on a tiny car, Remember your car can still be defected for mod plated items, The blue plate just scares off dumb ass cops but the smart ones will tear you a new arse hole and fill it with tickets. HIGH ROLLER Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 thanks for the link lindsay... had a look and it says "since 1971"... my car is a 71 model....wonder if it's exempt? Quote
Jono Posted October 15, 2007 Report Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) i have 15 x 5.5 rims on my ke20 but the engineer also made up a new tyre placard sticker and measured the track again. your choice of rims simply have to "be deemed suitable by the signatory" (being engineer) within the limits. then you get adjustment of records form for the RTA, blue slip, engineers report and take them to the RTA, and get a new rego sticker printed to relate it to the engineer report. Rolla Newbie Posted October 26, 2007 Report Posted October 26, 2007 Why the pharque would you want :) on a KE20? Would look cool. But, no pressure on the road. Your loading per square inch on the road would be eff all and it would handle like dog turds on a slippery dip. And would be suicide in the wet. Smelly Quote
