So Many Old Cars!

its come to my attention that you all drive old cars!

nothing wrong with that, was just wondering if anyones got anything modern?

 

iv got:

91 ae101 20v levin

90 u13 sss bluebird

and my old one:

79 (i think) vauxhall chevette

meh new is boring....can't do as much...(that said ive never owned a car newer than 28 years old)

 

I can get away with murder in the TA22 because its pre ADR (well almost...complies with all rules up to 26 or so). No emissons to get in the way and just generally a delight to work on because everything is so simple and layed out nicely.

i agree with what you say about working on them though!

I'm definitly an old car fan as well, hence the shovit, but in going 4age in that, eventually 4agte cause i want heaps of power :)

it also fits into my plans for what i want to do, build some thing myself. and race it!

i have a 88 camry.

not all that new but i spose it is efi so yea newer then some.

:) but i would rather a carby because it is easer to work on etc.

I have an 87 Camry wagon. I used to have a 92 Excel, and I used to have a 91 Lancer GSR. I have a Satria GTi in Malaysia too...

 

I like old cars for their simplicity and their relative low cost. I like new cars for their "jump-in-and-go" factor, comfort and generally the other improvements that came with the many years of further research put into them. My ultimate dream car is still an Evo...

mines an '88 AE82, originally purchased cause it was cheap and in awesome nick. But I have grown very fond of the straight lines and edges of that model, no soft curves.

 

Of course I'd love a few of the mod-cons but if I throw a few Seca bits into it I think I'd be happy (like a better centre console and plush door trims with pockets ..... and a friggin drink holder somewhere)

old car - 1971 datsun 1600

new(ish?) car - 1993 Holden Jackaroo

 

(here goes for the 213th time) Once I owned this 2000 WRX .... but had to make way for tow car sob Can't beat the new cars, my next one is DEFINITELY going to be a R33 Skyline GTR Vspec. :)

 

Now ask Redwarf about new cars/old cars. Think it goes something like:

i MAY be getting a cf bedford as a tow car around xmas... complete with ld28, auto and blue green and PINK paint work!! :)
