Luckie_Steve Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Hi everyone i have a spare R31 driveline sitting around and I'm considering slammin it into my AE71 :y: any thoughts people
Des Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Long motor, Might need to give the fire wall some love.
irokin Posted October 10, 2007 Report Posted October 10, 2007 Its also a fairly tall motor so you'll have to give the bonnet some love too... No one should ever do an engine conversion just because they have a motor "laying around". It shows a clear lack of planning and research.

irokin Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 Are the rb30 alloy or steel block? Id only consider it if it were all alloy. Will it hit your steering or swaybar? Cast iron block, alloy SOHC head. It'll probably hit bloody everywhere!! unless its a 2JZ There are no exceptions...
Sinate Posted October 11, 2007 Report Posted October 11, 2007 If i had spare 3k-r lying round i think i would be putting that in :D
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Speaking of the 2jz, they are a fair bit shorter than the rival (hardly) rb series motor. I just measured my bros one and it is 74cms from clear of the back of the motor to clearing the front pulleys. So this means the motor itself would actually fit into a ke30 with no firewall mods, (and no radiator). I am not recommending this, and it aint legal, but its just another reason why the 2j is a better motor!
love ke70 Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 my thoughts... ughhh coming from someone with a 1ggte in a ke70... rb30 = ughh
andro0o Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 this is a homo thread. do people not think before they post this stuff?

Des Posted October 17, 2007 Report Posted October 17, 2007 (edited) Anything is possible, A good mate of mine has a rb30et in a HJ kingswood, Handles like shit but its quick in a straight line. If you want it bad enough you would have started it by now. Edited October 17, 2007 by AE70

If you want it bad enough you would have started it by now. An RB30 in a kingswood is alot different than having one in an AE71, If it handles like shit it's obvious he has crap suspension.
