ancullen Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 Yeah, his is orange with white stripes - I got over excited thinking about my car and wrote yellow. All fixed now. :jamie: This is one of the designs I did in Paint for my car. I did a better one, but can't find it now. The other one had better GT striping, and is black along the bottom of the car from the crease line down. It will also follow the wheel arch crease, especially once some flares are on there. Bumpers are also no longer on the car, and haven't been there for a while. Oh yeah, my racing number is also 44, but I'd put 13 on there for the time being. When it gets painted it will also receive some RollaClub advertising and an A-Team logo. Quote
Pure-SX Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 I do like the stripes slightly to the side on the car mate. Will look tough as guts when its done :P But lik what bout da sik dragonz on the sidez an stuffz? and all da azian letterz n numbaz n stuff? :jamie: Quote
ancullen Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 LOL - NO!!! I think the GT stripes offset the bonnet scoop on the passenger side of the car. I just need to get a rear spoiler, flares, and probably a front splitter of some kind. Quote
Pure-SX Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 I like the "idea" even though its not the best quality. For some reason I prefer when one of the lines is thicker lol. It looks quite nice on some cars. Get the spoiler/flares/splitter :P Automotive porn :jamie: Quote

That's the way I'll be going. :jamie: Not sure about the splitter. I'll be taking a look at Gregor's tonight and that way I can see if I like them or not. Otherwise I'll go for one I've seen on eBay - not to suit the KE55, but I'll make it fit. :lolcry: XU1 spoiler would have to be cut and plastic welded to fit the KE55 anyway, so if the splitter needs modifying it won't be a big deal. slow turbz ke35 coupe beat it in my mates xr6 i was driving of course I've raced it too. Beat it in the 2003 Corolla. It's SLOW. Quote
ae174agze Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 i'll drop a 4agze in my ae71 and turbo it i'll be happy :jamie: na i'll be happy when i can drive it at all everything else is extra ahahah Quote
ancullen Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 LOL - who can turbo their car first - Andrew or Stephen? The race is on!!! :P BTW, how awesome is this RollaClub championship going to be next year!?!?! I'm going to have to do some serious work on the KE55 to be able to keep up! I tried pushing it the other day, and it's been sitting so long that something must have been rubbing because it was ridiculously hard to push. :jamie: Quote
ae174agze Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 ahahah yeha what are u planning on doing to it Quote
Pure-SX Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 Good Point. Will have to pull my finger out. However, at the moment I find it quick enough/handling well enough. Just want to tidy it up first. Then perhaps move on to engine mods. Quote
ancullen Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 New shocks Lowering the rear (front's already lowered) New wheel bearings Some new bushes Install Whiteline rear swaybar (I've had it sitting there for ages, front one's already installed) Install RX7 front brake setup The above should see my lap time drop to about 1:32 at Hidden Valley. Once the above is done, I'll be wanting to pretty the car up with flares, front and rear spoilers, and paint work. I also wouldn't mind new rims for it to fill the flares. Then I'll start the engine work, which will include: Bigport head (ported & polished) Big valves Shimless buckets Performance valve springs Big cams Metal head gasket (thinner to increase compression) ABV mod Lightweight pulleys (probably change crank/sc ratio to improve boost) Lightweight flywheel I'm hoping to see over 150rwkw with those mods - hopefully closer to 180rwkw. Just want to tidy it up first. Then perhaps move on to engine mods. Keep going the way your going. Your doing the right things first. But it will be interesting to follow both yours and Andrew's car developments. You've got a big head start, as your car's already looking pretty good and should now be handling quite well. But Andrew seems pretty keen to move quickly on the AE71. Personally I wouldn't turbo either car, but that's just me. With the 20v I'd want to build an 200+hp N/A motor (even more revs would be cool!), and with the AE71 I'd go for a 4A-GZE and probably just do a pulley change & ABV mod and enjoy the torque. But that's just what I'd do. Quote
wasfishing Posted December 5, 2007 Report Posted December 5, 2007 yea id do the same with the 71 low down toque ftw Quote
ancullen Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 For Stage One, the suspension & brakes stuff I mentioned, I've probably only got another $1,000-1,500 to spend. A lot of that will be on labour. Not sure on the cost of paintwork - I'd budget another $1,500. And Stage Three, the engine work, will be MEGA expensive. About $3,000 in parts, and probably another $3,000 in labour. Then again, $6,000 to go from 87rwkw to 150+rwkw isn't too bad. Quote
ancullen Posted December 5, 2007 Author Report Posted December 5, 2007 yea id do the same with the 71 low down toque ftw I'm going to end up losing a bit of low down torque on mine, but that's because I'll be putting some pretty wild cams in and increasing the rev limit to about 8,500rpm. But the increase in mid range and high rpm will more than make up for the loss in the low down. Quote
