Also the part which bolts to the strut can slide up and down the line. Possibly different join on yours to mine. It may be a different join. My lines have the plastic sleeve over it too, I don't think that that is abnormal. I am not sure what problem you are having then, unless you fixed it already. Quote

olskool Posted July 5, 2008 Author Report Posted July 5, 2008 Finally finished my custom extractors. Boy oh boy it takes time. Anyway here are a couple of pics for all to see. I ended up hand making my own collector and it seems to have worked out well so far. Here is the pipes all joined into one. Here is the collector itself. Here are the extractors complete with a flange welded on. Sandblasted and ready for paint. The finished product. Quote
cuzzo Posted July 5, 2008 Report Posted July 5, 2008 Looks great. Did you want to make a turbo manifold for me? ;) Quote

olskool Posted July 13, 2008 Author Report Posted July 13, 2008 Finally have begun the conversion into my car. I have been doing it lately in a dummy car but due to lucky circumstances I have another car to drive around in for 6 weeks so my car is now off the road. Here is a few pics of what I have done over the weekend. I ripped out the stocka, and placed in the 4age. Looks really nice in there. I also have completed my custom gearbox crossmember. It took a genuine full day of work and a lot of stuffin round but it is now done and I am overly happy with the finished result. What I begun with was cutting 5mm mild steel and drilling the holes to suit the holes in the gearbox mount on the gearbox and the chassis. I then welded on the small RHS Once I done that I bolted the brackets on to their corresponding parts and lettered all the ends. The hardest part was joining the gaps inbetween the brackets. There were all types of angles that I had to cut and it was alot of trial and error. But in the end this is the final product. Tomorrow I will sandblast and powdercoat the crossmember and then I can finally begin on the DIFF. Yippee. :D :( :( Quote
cuzzo Posted July 13, 2008 Report Posted July 13, 2008 What gearbox you using? t50? the t50 crossmember does bolt up to existing holes, aslong as the motor is in the right position. Quote
olskool Posted July 15, 2008 Author Report Posted July 15, 2008 Nah I am using a celica gearbox. It is a w series box. Also I have made this crossmember to be strong yet light. :) Quote
cuzzo Posted July 15, 2008 Report Posted July 15, 2008 Custom 4age bellhousing? Which one did you get? If your using a w55/7/8 box custom crossmember is well understandable. Quote
olskool Posted July 19, 2008 Author Report Posted July 19, 2008 (edited) Yeh I am pretty sure it is one of them. I have to check the dellow book to see which bellhousing I got. Pics are on the first few pages of this thread. I know for certain it was to suit a celica w series box though. Edited July 19, 2008 by olskool Quote
radrollaz Posted July 19, 2008 Report Posted July 19, 2008 Looks good mate, looks strong enough to support a truck gear box. Do you reckon she will be ready for the cruze in september ? Quote
