sammo[RL] Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Thought i'd ask everyone who they think will win, and who they want to win. Less then a week to the big race. Personally, id like anyhting with a blue oval to win! But some of holdens may be too fast, if they can go the distance! Quote
KE25 RACER Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Lowndes and Whincup will be real hard to beat, but a few driver lineup changes sinse sandwon may bring the field back to them, Rick Kelly and tander, skaife and todd kelly, even Winterbottom and richards. I aint a kiwi but i would like to see Jason Richards and Greg Murphy give it a good shake. Tasman always seem to go well at bathurst. Quote
dookie Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 i don't really mind...aslong as it has a red badge with a lion in the middle :) Quote
lappy Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 Skaife and Todd or Rick and Garth Tander (WA Boy) Quote
78_7kRolla Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 i'd like to see brad jones win as he always has terrible luck (but this is unlikely) or Glen Seton as he also has had always bad luck. I think Whincup and Lowndes will be hard to beat. We will see what happens ay? Quote
KE04AG Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I'd love to see Lowndes and Whincup repeat last years awesome effort!!! Quote
KE70-from-mt-panorama Posted October 1, 2007 Report Posted October 1, 2007 I would like to see Murphy Win it. I don't know how Lowndes and Whincup will go as they are running a new car so all the problems are yet to surface. Might find they will have to pit alot. Holden for the Win Quote
philba Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 If Glenn Seton still has a seat in a Holden, he will have a good chance to finally get a win a the mountain, instead of coming second because he was driving a blue oval Quote
coln72 Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 After watching how easy Lowndes was doing at Sandown he would be my tip. Quote
mattress Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 I'm gonna go with Richards in the GTR. Oh that's right, it turned gay and i havent watched it since. Sorry, i'm still upset. I cry myself to sleep when i can... Quote
philba Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 That was a win by default. Johnson was at Murrays Corner when the race was red flagged while Richards was at the top of Conrod Quote
mattress Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 Meh, the race lacks variety. I think variety is a good thing and it is after all the spice of life... Quote
philba Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 What else do we have for a large RWD 4door saloon? Nothing. Everything else is either FWD or smaller AWD Quote
irokin Posted October 2, 2007 Report Posted October 2, 2007 That was a win by default. Johnson was at Murrays Corner when the race was red flagged while Richards was at the top of Conrod The rule is its the lead car on the previous lap. What if every single car crashed when it was red flagged? Who would have won then? Caws no one would have received the red flag at the start finish line. V8 Super taxis have had their day, its time for a new formula caws quite frankly this is f@$ken boring! Going by the success of the Group C Historic touring cars theres certainly a growing interest in the old Group A/C etc formula. Theres a number of Nissans making a homecoming from other nations to Australian owners specifically to compete in this category. For your viewing pleaure: R31 vs Army Reserve falcon. listen to that RB20 scream!! p.s Long live the GTR! I wanna see the R36 come whoops some bogan arse! Quote
sammo[RL] Posted October 3, 2007 Author Report Posted October 3, 2007 I believe i asked about this bathurst, not the bathursts that had 6 genuine contenders, and 60 mobile chicanes! Although it was good to see the good ole days with various makes and models, but in this day and age racing has progressed to 20 or 25 genuine contenders, and made things more interesting and more safer.
