Drift_ke70 Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 I am turboing my 20 valve and am at this stage looking at a Stainless manifold and a brand new t3/t4 turbo kit including intercooler piping waste gate everything i need but i am not to sure if the t3/t4 will be to big or not if it will be is there anyother better suited turbo out there please note i am only going to run around 6-8psi. I have a microtech and stuff so that is not the prob. Will be drifting lapsprinting and in the motokhana. Cheers guys Quote
irokin Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 t3/t4s are very old technology and stainless is a terrible material to make manifolds out of. Get a turbo from the newer Garrett GT lineup and a steam pipe manifold. Quote
beerhead Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 Most of those "ebay special" turbo kits are junk. a T3/4 is a big turbo, running low boost you could get away with a GT25, about half the size and will come on under 4 grand. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted September 25, 2007 Report Posted September 25, 2007 20v's have the same exhaust port flange as a normal 4age!? If so..... http://cgi.ebay.com.au/ae86-4age-turbo-exh...1QQcmdZViewItem With that manifold you can use a t2, t25, t25g, t28, gt28, gt25, gt28rs etc etc etc. Quote
beerhead Posted September 26, 2007 Report Posted September 26, 2007 A 16V exhaust manifold will require modification to bolt up the the 20V Head. 1 hole needs to be notched, the other needs a metal tag welded to it and a new hole drilled. Those manifolds crack like nothing else, look pretty, but they've got too many joins. Try and get hold of one of these cast HKS, or a recently available copy. HKS turbo manifold - Was quoted $90 freight. HKS copy manifold 20v's have the same exhaust port flange as a normal 4age!? Sam_Q Posted September 28, 2007 Report Posted September 28, 2007 (edited) more than just the two inner studs are the same, its just the two outler holes that are different. How do I know? well lets just say I have converted a 16v flange to a 20v and a set of extractors to suit both. oh also theres a huge about of turbo 20v info on toymods.net Edited September 28, 2007 by Sam_Q Quote

I wasn't going to bring this up, but If you both would have read the whole post I wrote you'd know its been covered. Quote
