On the box topic, will a K50 box be a straight swap for a K40 or will it require any modifications?

And where abouts can you get bellhousing gaskets?

Cheers

Bolt straight in, no mods. HOWEVER, so corolla clutches are 19T, some are 21T, so just make sure the spline in right. :)

You won't find a k40/50 bellhousing gasket, because they don't exist!! The bell housing don't come off them.

If you mean a gasket between the engine and bell housing, then they don't exist either. Not needed.

The boxes should swap right over. Depending on what the box is from the shifter position may vary. KE70 shifter position is towards the back while KE3X/KE5X is in the center. Not sure if there was KE1X/KE2X 5 speeds but if there were it'd be towards the front.

Sounds easy. How many liters of oil does the K50 need or take?

Open a google search page......type "toyota k50 oil capacity".........click "I'm feeling luck" tab.

:) Oh that was so hard!!!

Do my search for dummies above Jip. Should take you to a wiki page.

Mind you wiki reckons 7k's come in KM20 liteaces, so anythings possible I suppose.

Only thing that slightly worries me is the fact that I put 2.5 litres in my K50, hope they're not supposed to be 1.7lt!!! :)

Have a look under the car to see if the excess oil has come out maybe? I was under mine yesterday and thing I might have overfilled it last time. :)
