Pure-SX Posted September 17, 2007 Report Posted September 17, 2007 What are peoples thoughts on aftermarket cams in a 20V? It seems the biggest size one can go while retaining VVT is 264. Just trying to get a few opinions as to either get 264cams and keep VVT or scrap vvt and go larger? Cheers Quote
tas_ae71 Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 i belive you only change the exhaust cam and just keep the standard cam with the vvt Quote
beerhead Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 Yep, you could always go a mixed duration set, some people get some really good results. I reakon maybe a 264 on the inlet to keep your VVT and a little bit of bottom end power, and a 288 on the exhaust side for shits and giggles. Quote
Pure-SX Posted September 19, 2007 Author Report Posted September 19, 2007 With that set up I would only get one adjustable cam gear yeah for the exhaust? Cheers for the advice Quote
beerhead Posted September 19, 2007 Report Posted September 19, 2007 Yep, I reakon you'd probably get away with one cam gear, but an adjustable one on the inlet would help fine tune where your power comes on. Quote
