What size rims will you be using though? For 15's you can get 195/50 R15 Eagle F1's for about $120 each, but if you're looking at bigger rims, then the price will obviously go up. I wouldn't go for bigger than 16's on an AW11, as 16's look cool enough without ruining the ride too much.

BTW, after getting a ride in an S2000 last Tuesday, I got a ride in a Mazda 3 MPS tonight. It's cool, and it pulls pretty hard in 3rd, but I think I'd still take the S2000 anyday of the week. And the MPS is meant to do a 14.3 quarter vs. 14.5 for the S2000 (according to Motor) - the S2000 still feels faster.

on a serious note, I think we should organise a cruise/meet up, I personally wouldn't mind going for a cruise then somewhere like east point for a feed on one of the BBQ's as long as I don't cook :D

Shane, you definitely would NOT need 17's to clear Celica GT4 brakes as GT4's came with 15's or 16's standard - definitely not 17's.

As for S2000 handling, I've only ever heard how good they are. Remember they are front-mid engined, so they've got a perfect 50/50 weight distribution. The only complaint I've heard is that they can be slightly twitchy on the limit, but since their handling limit is so high, I don't really think that's a massive issue.

Sorry Shane, but I've only ever heard the opposite of that. The AW11 MR2 has pretty good handling, but has a front to back weight distribution of 44:56 (according to Road & Track magazine data). The SW20 was shocking with a 42:58 distribution, so it's no surprise it earned the nickname 'The Widowmaker' due to it's tendency to spin when pushed too hard. The ZZW31 improved to equal the AW11's 44:56, which is suprisingly not as good as a Porsche Boxster, which is 46:54 - surprising because the Boxster has a six cylinder motor versus the MR2 Spyder's lighter four cylinder.

Most people consider 50:50 the perfect distribution, some like a slight increase to the front or rear. Obviously a vehicle with a greater distribution over the rear will be able to put more power to the ground than one with a 50:50 or front heavy distribution, but a 50:50 distribution generally allows more control and grip when cornering.

We'll see at the next track meet I suppose. Exige vs. S2000? Maybe if we're lucky.

3. KE55E with 4A-GZE (even though it's not competing)

5. AE82 with 4A-GE 20v

:)

And the BBQ idea sounds good. Not this weekend (motorkhana on Sunday) - how about next weekend?

Mmm... food. So what do we want to do? Cruise finishing up at East Point (or somewhere else where we can purchase or prepare food)? RollaClub only, or open it up to everyone?
