wasfishing Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 So adam wana hav a look see what we can do??? :lolcry:
ancullen Posted February 20, 2007 Report Posted February 20, 2007 Sure, we may as well. I'm not available until Saturday the 3rd or Sunday the 4th of March, unless you want to do it on a weekday finishing by 2pm at the latest.
wasfishing Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 i don't finish work until 5 on weekdays
ancullen Posted February 21, 2007 Report Posted February 21, 2007 Well it definitely won't be on a weekday then. Not this Saturday but the next one then? BTW, do any of you still keep in touch with Lenard? I haven't seen or heard from him in ages, and am wondering if he still has that 4A-GE 20v and Microtech for sale, cause if he does, I'm now in a position to buy.
wasfishing Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 yea next saturday sounds good what stuff do i need??? :lolcry:
ancullen Posted February 22, 2007 Report Posted February 22, 2007 Umm... good question? I can't remember from the top of my head, and one of the main things we'll need to do first is to compare the diagram I've got with your engine bay. Then we can work out parts and whatever. We should do it out at my parents-in-law's house, as my tools and the diagram are out there - plus we can compare your engine with mine to see if there's any noticeable differences.
Killswitch Posted February 28, 2007 Report Posted February 28, 2007 Hey guys, won't be taking your 4K Adam just not worth it I've decided, corollas FTL! :P But thanks for the patience thus far! What I am currently looking for is either a schmicko AE71, or an AE71 suitable for wrecking. If you guys know of anything/have seen any around that I can talk to the owners about please tell me asap! Fanks!
ancullen Posted March 1, 2007 Report Posted March 1, 2007 (edited) That's cool about the 4K - my father-in-law said that if I wasn't rid of the car shortly he was going to take control of it - he wants to build a buggy, which is what I wanted to do anyway. As for an AE71, my mate Chris has got one for spares, but it's an auto. However, the cross member should be fine if you want it, and an AE71 T50 shouldn't be that hard to get your hands on. Of course, if you want to use a 4A-GE you'll have to buy an AE86 bellhousing. I'll speak to Chris when I next see him to find out how much of the car he's got left - I think he was just picking at interior bits. Edited March 1, 2007 by ancullen
ancullen Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 (edited) So I found out yesterday from Ella. In other news, I received word that there is a suggestion from the NT Motoring Council (which I'm now a member of to represent RollaClub), that they are planning an event for National Motoring Heritage Day. What this event will comprise of is all involved clubs meeting up at Hidden Valley sometime between 10 and 11am on Sunday the 20th of May. Each person coming along will donate $1 which buys them entry, a raffle ticket, and a sticker for the Show and Shine. Clubs will park together (eg RollaClub in one area, NAMSC in another, MVEC in another, etc), then a BBQ lunch will be available from 11.30-12.30. At 1pm clubs will leave on run routes that will be provided. At 2.30pm we should arrive at Mindil Beach, and at 3.30pm the raffle will be drawn and trophies presented for the Show and Shine (not sure where the Show and Shine takes place - probably Hidden Valley). At 4pm the Mindil Beach markets commence. I'm not sure if we are asked to hang around for them, or if we just disappear after the presentations if we want. At some point at Hidden Valley we will be doing a slow lap of the track with headlights on, presumably with someone taking pictures or video footage, so that would be cool, and it'd be great to have a few Corollas in the pictures. I would dearly love to have RollaClub turn up for this event, preferably in some recognizable numbers. We have ELEVEN weeks until this event, so we all should have plenty of time to get our cars ready. There hasn't been much going on in the club of late, so it's time I started trying to get a better NT presence happening. If any of you keep in touch with people that used to visit this site, but haven't in a while, then PLEASE get in touch with them and get them interested again. It would be great if we could get a minimum of five cars to participate in this event, and it would help get the word out about the club and might get more members. I WILL be participating in this event - either as a representative of RollaClub with you guys, or as a volunteer. I would much prefer to be representing the club, so lets try and get some interest back into the club and make something happen again. In the spirit of that, let's have a RollaClub cruise and event on Saturday the 31st of March or Sunday the 1st of April. I'm thinking of a cruise and then go-karting, but am happy to do pretty much anything. Anyone and everyone is welcome, but I want to see as many RollaClub members as possible, and as many Corollas and Corolla drivers as possible. If you are interested in the National Motoring Heritage Day run, then I need to know by Tuesday the 20th of March. So you basically have two weeks to let me know. Sorry I can't give you more warning, but I only just found out about this event. To let me know, you can either post a reply below, or PM me, or email me, or phone me or SMS me (if you have my number). I'd be happy to help any of you out as much as I can to get your cars ready, so lets show some club pride and get out there amongst the other clubs. SHANE - the MR2 would look great with some RollaClub stickers. It's almost an AE82 Corolla anyway, it's just had the engine shunted to the back. :P Danno - surely we can tart one of your KE70/AE71's up enough to make you want to join in. Hell, a quick respray can't be too difficult if needs be. And if we get desperate for reliability, you could always put in your AE71 crossmember and tailshaft with my 4A-GZE and T50 (only on loan). THAT'S how keen I am to see RollaClub turn up to this event! Could you each try and get in touch with Lenard, Tim (zmit), Matt (imnost), and any others you can think of to try and make this happen and get as many cars as possible. As for the RollaClub cruise and event, just post below to express interest. Edited March 6, 2007 by ancullen Adam is an idiot - SHANE, not Tim
wasfishing Posted March 5, 2007 Report Posted March 5, 2007 Adam my names shane........ Um yea what is the exact date i forgot alredi??? car will be in shop from 25th april but hopefully will be out in time, so i will be deff in, along as car lets me. ill lt tim know.
ancullen Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 I realised I'd called you Tim in that post when I saw you in Coles. Sorry Shane. :P National Motoring Heritage Day - Sunday 20 May 2007 Last day to let me know if you're interested in participating - Tuesday 20 March 2007 RollaClub cruise & event - Saturday 31 March OR Sunday 1 April 2007
ancullen Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 BTW, the spare AE71 that my mate Chris has is actually a manual, not an auto. The problem with the gearbox is that apparently only fifth gear will work. I'm going to check the car out this Sunday, to help Chris swap one of the struts onto his car (as his has issues), and then with any luck I'll be taking the rest of the car for myself to build up as Lola's replacement. I intend to build this one up properly, but it will depend on what sort of condition it's in before I decide for sure. If it's too rooted, I'll just be taking the AE71 crossmember, gearbox (I'm sure it can be fixed/rebuilt), tailshaft, brakes, and diff & axle assembly.
wasfishing Posted March 6, 2007 Report Posted March 6, 2007 So If i hav worked this out right (correct me if I'm wrong) Rolla club Cruise then me car goes in shop(25th april) gets all pretty then outta shop show n shine/heritage day events (20th may) If I'm right COUNT ME IN!!! :P so its like 2 months away.
