ancullen Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 definately putting a new clutch on the motor before it goes into the wagoon Sounds like a plan, Stan. So you're definitely going with an AE95 then? Are you going to hook Danno up with the TE72?
Ella Posted October 24, 2006 Author Report Posted October 24, 2006 (edited) I'm not hooking anyone up with anything danno found the TE72 by himseluff Edited October 24, 2006 by Ella
Ella Posted October 24, 2006 Author Report Posted October 24, 2006 PS can anyone here get good prices on 4AGZE pistons and Decent rods? Might need a set of both eventually...
ancullen Posted October 24, 2006 Report Posted October 24, 2006 Right now there is a set of Arias forged pistons on eBay for US$489 (about $600-650 Australian) + postage. They're 8.6:1 compression, and are 82mm bore (vs. 81mm standard). I can also get these same pistons, in either 81.5mm or 82mm bore for $939 Australian, with free shipping. I can also get Crower conrods for $1,629, again with free shipping. As far as standard 4A-GZE parts, you're best bet would probably be to buy an entire 4A-GZE second hand.
Ella Posted October 24, 2006 Author Report Posted October 24, 2006 (edited) They aren't for a GZE or i would... Negotiating a 7AFE with the AE95... apparently the bottom end dun like to rev too hard :) Edited October 24, 2006 by Ella
ancullen Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Yeah, they don't like to rev above about 7,500. Of course, you could always buy a SpeedRacer 7A-GE 1900cc kit. 82mm bore and 90mm stroke, with 11.0:1 compression making 220hp. It's also available with lower compression to suit forced induction. Of course, you can also option it up to cost about $14,000, so it ain't cheap. It still won't rev super hard (I think it's about 8,000rpm max), but it's got heaps of grunt.
wasfishing Posted October 25, 2006 Report Posted October 25, 2006 Hey got my new front bar yesterday looks pretty cool. gona be hard to put on need to make my own mounting holes.
ancullen Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 Which one did you end up going with? Is it standard, or a tasteful aftermarket one?
wasfishing Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 yea its the one from sinex bodykits
Killswitch Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 Slotted rotors and pads arrived today! :)
ancullen Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 That's not too different from the standard one (as far as looks go anyway) is it?
ancullen Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 So will you be racing this Sunday Danno? It'd be cool to see the KE70 down there, and if the Corolla isn't ready and I have to bring the Starlet, then we'll be reasonably matched up. :)
Ella Posted October 26, 2006 Author Report Posted October 26, 2006 lol doubt it, danno on the bench racer team (hes got heaps of parts but hes "gunna" fit em sometime soon) Gunna FTW
ancullen Posted October 26, 2006 Report Posted October 26, 2006 I've heard a rumour that there will be a few small FWD cars at this meet. Could be interesting. I'll be putting my 15's from the black Corolla back on the Starlet if I have to take it instead of the yellow Corolla. The gave me better acceleration on the Rejex, as well as a higher top speed, and should help me not to spin as much in corners as well. Hoping to crack 1min40 if I take it down, just to rub it in the face of the driver of a certain purple turbo'd Excel.
Killswitch Posted October 27, 2006 Report Posted October 27, 2006 lol doubt it, danno on the bench racer team (hes got heaps of parts but hes "gunna" fit em sometime soon) Gunna FTW W3RD :) That's how we roll.
