ancullen Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 There isn't much of a gap between the 8.0 and 8.9:1 compression ratios. You'd be better of with one of the later motors, either AE92 or AE101 as they have forged pistons and will cop more boost. The bigport head is better for higher power, but for a streetable setup the smallport head won't matter - you could still make 350+hp at the engine.
Des Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 oh yea before i forget will a 4age timing belt fit a 4agze?
ancullen Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I'm pretty sure they do, but why wouldn't you buy a new 4A-GZE timing belt anyway?
Des Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 I'm pretty sure they do, but why wouldn't you buy a new 4A-GZE timing belt anyway? auto1 said they can only get 4age ones in not gze
ancullen Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 Well don't deal with them, because they're obviously shite. GZE's are far more popular than regular 4A-GE's because of their massive power potential due to the excellent standard bits. Try somewhere like SSS Automotive, or one of the many Jap importers you have there in Qld. Hell, if we can access one here in the NT with only one importer, I think you should be able to find one there if you bother to do a bit of research.

ancullen Posted August 10, 2006 Report Posted August 10, 2006 For a GZE??? They'll probably tell you there's no such thing. They were never brought to Australia by Toyota in any model. Toyota (to date) haven't sold a supercharged vehicle in Australia. It looks like the Aurion will be the first, followed by the Hilux.
Ella Posted August 11, 2006 Author Report Posted August 11, 2006 adams right go to a place that deals with lots of imports anyone else will tell you your car/engine doesnt exist (wankz0rs)
ancullen Posted August 11, 2006 Report Posted August 11, 2006 Oh yeah, all A-series motors used in Australian models had a distributor, so if you're CAS has problems, you may need to switch to a distributor or look to after market suppliers.
Ella Posted August 11, 2006 Author Report Posted August 11, 2006 meh theres plenty of people selling good CAS or wrecking working ones on twinspam.. you just gotta wait fir the right part to pop up...
ancullen Posted August 12, 2006 Report Posted August 12, 2006 I've heard a rumour that the 7M-GTE came with CAS and that it can be altered to fit the 4A-GE. But I very strongly doubt the source of this rumour.
Ella Posted August 12, 2006 Author Report Posted August 12, 2006 wouldnt surprise me tho... good old toyotas parts interchangability
ancullen Posted August 13, 2006 Report Posted August 13, 2006 To a point, yes. Man I want a nicely done up old-skool styled Corolla coupe/2-door. Thought you might all like to know that.
Sirolla[RL] Posted August 14, 2006 Report Posted August 14, 2006 Find out a mob called ichiban, i know they sell half-cuts and engines alone cheaper than most places, but have not known what conditions their bits are..hope this helps. At Tafe, tryin to drop by when i get a chance, catchas
Ella Posted August 14, 2006 Author Report Posted August 14, 2006 ive found a 2 door EE80 like a ae80 but with 2 doors and a 2e-FE engine in it thinking about buying it for a replacement when i build rolly a 1.8l engine and stick her on the track full time (yes I'm going to turn it into a circuit basher) how cool would a 2 door be? lighter too :laff:
