Retrospekt Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 I started work at a phone shop, don't have internet at home so i bought a hiptop. $30 a month for unlimited data sounds pretty good by me, means i can check emails and watch youtube all day no matter where i am. The handset isnt the prettiest thing but it works so... just curious as to wether anyone else has one or has seen them? Quote
JiP Posted September 8, 2007 Report Posted September 8, 2007 If it is what I think it is then I've seen the adds. Quote
Beejae82 Posted September 9, 2007 Report Posted September 9, 2007 (edited) Hey, I bought a hiptop3 in sydney in july, they have their good points including having pms sent directly to your mobile and having google on the go, they tend to freeze up a bit and restarting them will refresh and boost your reception level if its not full. Unless you have something special these phones are not video compatible, nor can anything be downloaded, I could keep talking positive and negative, but if you want to know some extra info if you don't already know PM me. I do all my rollaclub and twincam gear from my HT3. There's a hidden snowboarding game as well. Enjoy Edited September 9, 2007 by Beejae82 Quote
Beejae82 Posted September 10, 2007 Report Posted September 10, 2007 WTF is a Hiptop? Lol probably easiest to do a quick google search, its a telstra exclusive mobile phone x pda so to speak, with a flip out screen and full qwerty keyboard. Comes on a $30/month plan and $30/month phone repayment option/plan (MRO) includes unlimited sms, mms, email with own @hiptop.com.au email address, msn and yahoo messengers included, 1.3 megapixel camera-up to 2gb expandable memory, mp3 player, downloadable ($) programs and free unlimited internet to name a few features, they are popular in america and hard to get hold of in australia, but are good for their purpose. Retrospekt Posted September 13, 2007 Author Report Posted September 13, 2007 not that hard to get a hold of, we have 15 instore. good points are the unlimited data, bad points are the actual handset (not as many functions as i would like) new one out next month according to our reps... next g compatible one not till next year. btw, we had a guy come in with a 98 page telstra bill, total cost = $109. in theory you could send $10k worth of messages for $30 a month Quote
towe001 Posted September 14, 2007 Report Posted September 14, 2007 Had a fiddle with a demo model last month. Thought it was pretty cool till i managed to break the flip out screen :D Quote
