TheNOBBLER[RL] Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 And more pics for your eyes! Saturday nights efforts lifted from the Vic section post. Oh, some of the photo's from last night... After a few drinks the camera hand wasnt as steady as it could have been... sorry for the blur! JP Quote
dfunkt Posted June 29, 2008 Author Report Posted June 29, 2008 well, the twins were ditched today, in favour of something that doesn't leak (well, my exhaust leaks but that's not the topic here) a 32/36 weber is attached, and will be for a fair while. hooked up all the necessities to take it for a strap round the block. aside from what is needed to have a running engine, the extras were a cooling system and the headlights. cooling system will need to be modified a bit, as the hoses are an incorrect size to attach to the water pump. might just wait for my new radiator to arrive before final pics are posted. as well as putting all the plastic/metal bits on the front and putting the dash together again. lowering blocks will be thrown in and the 12" stockies with hubcaps will also be going on, so i can get the rear guards fixed to combat my rubbing issue. a whole lotta useless drivel you just read, but will be nice to drive it again properly so other work can be done. a certain members ke26 needs some major McLovin.... cheers dF Quote
Raven Posted June 29, 2008 Report Posted June 29, 2008 I think you should be getting the numberplates "Jaffa" instead as it looks more Orange than Red in those pics :P Good to see it coming along nicely. Were the cooling system issues more to do with the heater hoses being too small for the inlet/outlet on the waterpump? Quote
dfunkt Posted June 29, 2008 Author Report Posted June 29, 2008 i'm kinda thinking of lending the plates to stu for when he gets his 5K-ZE going, so that there's the obligatory "blowing" reference! and yes, it's VERY orange when it's dirty and with artificial light :P cooling issues are my hoses are larger 14mm than the outlets 12mm i'm sure i've got some spare 12mm hoses lying around in one of the 3 garages i'm using currently :S Quote
Raven Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Swap your waterpump over to a a KE70 item :S that has the larger outlets :P Quote
dfunkt Posted July 1, 2008 Author Report Posted July 1, 2008 needs some love, will have proper evaluation on it tomorrow. Quote
harun Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 needs some love, will have proper evaluation on it tomorrow. Awsome i got one of these recently for my KE20. That thing sure needs alot of TLC. Let us know how you go hooking it up. Great progress by the way, keep it up. Quote
Doogs Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 I think you should be getting the numberplates "Jaffa" instead as it looks more Orange than Red in those pics :D I also noticed that in those pics, and had wondered if you had done a paint job without telling us ! Will also be keen to see how you go with the cluster. When are you heading to vicroads ? Quote
dfunkt Posted July 1, 2008 Author Report Posted July 1, 2008 paint job....that's quite laughable. washing it happens all to rarely as it is! i'm more the sorta guy who gets it going and that's good enough. maybe give it a quick clean with degreaser, but hell, if it takes longer than 2 mins and won't help the car drive, it's not worth it IMHO. cluster work will begin on thursday night. taking it into work tomorrow and having a bit of a fiddle with the dash fascia and lenses. thursday also happens to be the day i am (hopefully) spraying my front end bits and possibly bolt them on too, otherwise it'll be pushed back to satday/sunday before its all together again :D VicRoads will be happening on a random day that i'm able to take the morning off work. which will be dependent on both how busy the previous day is and if vicroads have an opening for me. i've got about 3 different offices i can take it to, so i should be able to swing it on the first chance i get. dfunkt Posted July 2, 2008 Author Report Posted July 2, 2008 well, if you can't tell by the pic of the cluster, it's been royally molestered :D the previous owner decided he didn't like the stock tacho, so removed what was necessary to fit an aftermarket one in front of the stock one...which involved cutting the lense piece, breaking a mount, cutting the fascia and losing the distance travelled odometer. a bit of a tidy up of the surfaces, some knobs slotted in place and after i've checked if the tacho works or not it'll be hung on the wall. Raven Posted July 2, 2008 Report Posted July 2, 2008 Damn hey... I'm still gonna get my Japan contact to source me one of those and the triple gauge centre cluster for my yellow 25 :D Quote
dfunkt Posted July 2, 2008 Author Report Posted July 2, 2008 you don't 'need' contacts*....sure they help, and knowing you and your lazy arse habits.... :D in all honesty, everyone should have one...mic, feel like sharing the love and getting 2 sets for me also??! (yes i have one, but only for super secret squirrel stuff) Quote
