If ya want to blitz people 1JZ-GTE, I have been in a Hilux with a 1J + Auto and he can floor it at 120 and it will light up the rears and change lanes :party:

REALLY??? If that's true then 3S-GE and 3S-GTE RWD conversions just became a lot easier!!!

 

I thought the problem with RWD 3S conversions (apart from BEAMS) was that they didn't have the provision for the extra engine mount, plus the whole cooling problem

Meh, they'd be easy to overcome. Custom bellhousings would not be cheap, so that's one of the main parts out of the way.

That's the one i was talikng about. Probly a good option. Easy to find and relatively cheap.

Most utes and 4x4's are easier to get engineered as they run a full chassis, My brother's 4wd 308 (yes still ran 4x4) hilux was unreal but traction is crap when you have no weight in the back, 33's don't even cut it.

 

Forgot to put ute at the start, Now it will make sense.

if its a pre 84 then engine bay length is the main issue.. that means all 6's are out unless theres some fairly hefty body mods done..

 

i reckon the commode motor or 3sg/2rz motors are the way to go personally. actually a bloke at work is about to undertake a VR3.8 to '83 hilux.. got everything he needed for $500 ;)

fun to corner with the throttle! ive used it as my daily driver for years, but yes, can't corner or stop, built it to tow with, the rollas for corners!

still fun to take it out on a friday night especialy when summernats is on
