smeak123 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 (edited) 4agze in a hilux can it be done who, where thanks Edited September 3, 2007 by smeak123 Quote
Des Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 Of course it can be done, Anything is possible but is it practical ? 4wd or 2wd ? Quote
7shades Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 I'm going to assume its a pre-83 2wd hilux with a Y-series engine, but regardless, a 4A is not the road you wanna go down mate. Not enough torque, all custom to install. Go for an R-series from an 80's celica... ANY R motor will do.... just use the xmember from a later model 'lux and its a bolt in job. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 What he said. 4as want a really light vehicle, even stock gzes. Quote
KE30_KE35_KE55 Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 3.8 v6 holden makes a very nice conversion adaptor plates avaliable off the shelf. Quote
7shades Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 hell... its a ladder-chassis vehicle... much easier to engineer any number of rediculous engines... 7.2litre F-series diesel anyone? :D Quote
Jordan Posted September 3, 2007 Report Posted September 3, 2007 3S GTE will bolt up to the Y series bell housing :D Jordan Quote
ancullen Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 REALLY??? If that's true then 3S-GE and 3S-GTE RWD conversions just became a lot easier!!! Quote
7shades Posted September 4, 2007 Report Posted September 4, 2007 Yeah and you have the option of column shift :D Quote

78_7kRolla Posted September 5, 2007 Report Posted September 5, 2007 why would you want a 4agze in a lux? go the commo 3.8, or if you are skilled try retrofitting a twin cam 2.7l 4 cyl (insert engine model here). Just my 2-bob. Quote
