PHATKE20S Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 Hey guys, finally got the old girl on the road. Goes well but like all projects there is always one or two things that need to be fixed after its on the road. Exhaust is a bit how you going and the car seems to be chewing the fuel, yes i know i have twin carbs but still it is a little higher consumption as it should be so a good tune of the carbs might be on the cards. Stay tuned for more pics, anyone attending the jap classic this weekend on the northside of brissy please come check it out!!!! Cheers Adam :D And about bloody time mate :D :D Quote
PHATKE11 Posted August 21, 2009 Author Report Posted August 21, 2009 Hey guys, have new pics of recent upgrades and specs which i have now done to the car since last time. Car now runs a 25/65 cam by TIGHE, full MSD Ignition setup which i have to say is well worth the money, gilmer drive setup and yes filters through the bonnet. Also replaced the old toyoglide with a much stronger auto. Also every cast alloy part is polished, rocker cover, thermostat housing, timing cover, dizzy, oil filter housing the list goes on. Interior is now changed to near original spec with red seats and carpet (door cards will be fitted in a few weeks, same colour as seats) Stay tuned as this car is going to the paint shop very soon. corolla_nut Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 Love under the bonnet - very schmick - twin carbs are awesome!! A quick glance at the last pic - I thought you had the carbs sitting on top of the bonnet and I had no idea what you were going on about, but then I had a really good look... It looks wicked!! I don't think I've seen any other early rollies with components sticking out of the bonnet (apart from the ones with huge spastic engines in them!) very unique - love it Quote
PMP020 Posted August 22, 2009 Report Posted August 22, 2009 I'm shocked I'm admitting this but, the filters look tuff!!!!!! hahah. nice work. most Ke1* people will prolly hate u more for simply cutting up a rare part ;) cheers, scott Quote

BReNt Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 I love the engine bay pic, looks tops! Is it legal to have the filters coming out the top of the bonnet like that?? Quote
Felix Posted August 23, 2009 Report Posted August 23, 2009 (edited) Is it legal to have the filters coming out the top of the bonnet like that?? No it is not. • The edges at the front of a scoop/projection shall be rounded with a minimum of 10mm radius. • All other edges and corners shall have a radius of not less than 5mm and be designed to reduce the risk of bodily injury to any person to a minimum. • The scoop/projection must not have reflective surfaces. • Air cleaners or carburettors must not protrude beyond the original bonnet profile unless the bonnet scoop/projection is manufactured from equivalent gauge mild steel, compared with that of the original bonnet. • Air cleaners and/or carburettors must be covered by the bonnet scoop. source: QLD Transport Light Vehicles Modifications Handbook Edited August 23, 2009 by Felix Quote
PHATKE11 Posted August 24, 2009 Author Report Posted August 24, 2009 (edited) Hey guys, thanks for the thumbs up. Just wanted something different. I have another bonnet with no holes which will be fitted if the COPS or DOT give me a hard time. Although the other day i was driving around Redcliffe and happened to drive straight past a police car, they both looked, smiled and gave me a thumbs up, lol. Might not be so lucky next time, touch wood. I'm going for the addon type white walls with a small 19mm bead white or red bead, I'm just not sure yet. I'm getting these done by the white wall man around Brisbane, i have his number somewhere. Hopefully the car will be finished for the Jap Classic coming up so stay tuned. Oh i'll be posting more pics soon also. Stay tuned. Edited August 24, 2009 by PHATKE11 Quote
