The new Clearasil add. Why do we have to have adds that have had english words dubbed over whatever language it was originally filmed in. Its worse than the Oust add, now thats bad!!

Yeah i hate that and the Hyundai Monday radio ad's.

the new castrol add where they have two mustang looking things on dynos and are talking about maximum horsepower and yada yada.

Dubbed aussie voices over a very american based ad.

I actually find the dubbing the least annoying bit of it. Sure, it's obviously dubbed, but they did a better job of the sync than those bloody Oust/Glade ads, and most shampoo/skin cream commercials.

What I want to know is how that test shows that the Castrol-oiled car lasted 45% longer when they didn't show it being destroyed too.

And it lasted longer than a generic benchmark oil? No shit, that's what benchmarks are for. If your product doesn't beat a benchmark, then you wouldn't be advertising it as a performance product, would you?

I went and sat the course for my blue card yesterday. We were told some interesting/disturbing things.

We were told that a building inspector could fine us $150 if we had muddy shoes and scraped it off on a curb, or $750 if I drive out of a muddy job site and spray mud all over the road. I think that is a load of shit. I have no control over that. I think the builder should supply us with a place to park our cars and safe passage through the site so we don't get mud throughout the building.

Another thing was that if the builder hadn't prepared a Work Method Statement (I think thats what was said) the builder would get fined, lose points then every subby on the job would also get fined and lose points. I think thats bull. Like when you hop on a site, do you ask to see the Work Method Statement?

Well my boss was told that when we walk off the concrete and onto the dirt or grass that we should have something to clean our feet on before we step onto it :)

well its not the councils problem if you muddy up the road and they need to clean it. so yes, you cop the fine, you'll notice when it rains that there alot of council vehicles driving around sites.

park your car on the street, no need to park on the mud unless your running something from your car, which i doubt you are.

you or your boss should ahve a work method statement prepared, as well as the builder. its not just their responsibility to have one, you need one, and it should be signed by your boss and all his workers.

But if I'm on a site that has no space for street parking, but has a designated muddy parking area, I have no choice. Even if I parked on the road somewhere, I'd still have muddy shoes when heading back to my car from the site.

As for the work method statement, I have seen nor signed anything.

technically you should have.

but technically you shouldnt have been onsite without a blue card

its the builder that cops the fine for mud being dragged onto the road, they then pass it out to the tradies responsible.

don't clean your boots on the kerb and youll be fine, clean them on the grass or throw them in the boot and put your thongs on.
