carbonboy Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 It's not regurgitating, its sampling. Which I'm pretty sure is music industry slang for 'I can't be bothered thinking up my own shit, Ill use someone else's, call it a sample and say its a tribute as I really respect the artist'. Yep, that's what I was thinking of! :y: But then again wide body camry driver just says it all, 2/3's of them got their license from a corn flakes packet. I was thinking it, glad someone else said it first! :laff: Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 The Commonwhore's auto lights on was able to be adjusted for sensitivity. Mine was set so the lights would come on in a multistorey carpark, so basically dark shadows would turn the lights on. The auto-headlights in the Soarer are two-stage, so when it starts to get a little dark it puts the parkers on, then when it gets darker again it puts the full low-beams on. Multi-storey carparks are enough to trigger the full low-beams, so fairly sure there have been times in overcast/rainy situations when the headlights have turned on (they're always on auto, but the dash is fully digital so can't use the dash backlights as a guide) Quote
clubby2084 Posted January 30, 2012 Report Posted January 30, 2012 Those same cars should have auto headlights though Dave! Friends and I had this discussion only a couple of weeks ago. A Doctor in Darwin was busted driving his Merc in the city without headlights. He was fined by the Police and he feels he was unfairly treated. Why?. Because his dash lights were on so he thought his headlights were on as well. Take some responsibility buddy. If you don't know if your headlights are on or not, should you be in control of a car?. Seperate WGMG - I have a bird (feathered sort!) that pays a visit twice a day, purches on the passenger mirror of my Rolla and attacks itself in it's reflection. It SH!TS all down the side of my car while doing it's thing in the mirror. I've tried putting socks on the mirrors but, it just does the same thing to it's reflection in the glass. I've tried moving the car to a different spot, doesn't make a difference. I've covered my Rolla, so it goes to my Holden and sh!ts on it. Cover the Holden AND the Rolla, it sh!ts on the Hi-Lux. I'm out of blankets and covers, and patients... If I catch the little bastard, I'm gunna staple it arse shut. Can someone lend me a cat?. Quote

orangeLJ Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 The bird thing is usually a mating or a dominance thing, the bird is trying to assert itself over any competitors. unfortunately for you, the only competitors are in your cars mirrors lol. Not a whole lot you can do really, it will probably stop once winter rolls around Quote
ke70dave Posted February 1, 2012 Report Posted February 1, 2012 cruising behind 2 cars, along the industrial roads near where i work, very wide road, where the speed limit is 70km/hr. and someone right up the front is doing 55-60km/h. Turns out the guy in front was an undercover cop car, waiting for someone to overtake him to book them. Quote
Willis Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 That pisses me off, hearing stupid shit like that infuriates me. Like when they were initiating races with people and then taking their cars from them. I don't really care about the people that lost their cars, they shouldn't have been upping it at a set of lights, I care about the ʞ©$ɟwith cop taking his unmarked car up to 100 in a 60 zone. They shouldn't be able to break the law to catch people for something. If they can't catch someone legally, then they don't deserve to catch them. Quote

Entrapment's a a bitch, but if you're dumb enough to take the bait to street race (especially to race a car with at least 3 aerials hanging off the back of it), you deserve it. End of story. As for the overtaking, just overtake at the speed limit, no problem. If police aren't allowed to break the law to catch a criminal, how are they going to catch people who initiate police chases? If they can't speed to keep with said criminal, what are they meant to do? Let them go? Wait for them to crash? That about if some guy's decided to lock himself & his family inside his house with a gun & is threatening to kill them all, if the cops can't break the law (i.e trespass onto his property for starters), what will they do about the family inside? I'm not having a personal go at you willis, it's just that I think there's WAY too much slagging off the cops happening. Who do you call when some c**ts broken into your house? Who keeps traffic moving when some dickhead's decided to run a red light at an intersection, caused a massive accident & traffic's stuffed? My point is, if you were to remove police from society like the people bitching about them seem to want, watch all the whingers change their tune real quick when $h1t hits the fan for them & there's no-one to call. I'm not a cop, I'm not dating a cop, none of my family are cops, I just would rather deal with cops than politicians. Or lawyers. ;) Quote
coln72 Posted February 2, 2012 Report Posted February 2, 2012 (edited) ^^^^^^^^ Beautifully said ^^^^^^^^^ I have no issues with cops doing their jobs, whether its doing breath tests, license checks or whether it be chasing some dickhead who wont stop (and it was a relation of mine that was killed in a police chase recently). Lets face it, if you knew the police were not going to chase you, or enter private property etc. why would you stop or let them enter. Just throw a set of false plates and don't worry about road rules or if you kill someone and bury them in your back yard. Actually, that last one sounds attractive. Come hear little Johnny......... Or lawyers. ;) Carbonboy, You're applying what I said to all situations, but it's dependant on what cicumstances were talking about. A mentally unstable man threatening to kill people, or some dude in his commo doing 10 over the speed limit. Laws obviously exist for a reason and I like them the way they are, I have no problem with them. The idiot who initiates a police chase deserves to get caught. But I was only talking about the street racing thing. Anyone who does actually street race is a dumbshit and needs to be off the road but their methods of catching them are wrong. Entrapment is ridiculous. I mean, a cop doing 50 in a 70 zone waiting for people to overtake him and then do them is a joke. I've heard stories, (don't know if theyre true or not) of police ordering track cars to be taken off their trailers for an inspection only to be defected as soon as the wheels touch the road. That's just stupid. I just don't understand why they would waste their time doing things like these. I don't want police gone, that's just retarded. I just don't agree with them breaking the law to catch someone for something that wouldn't have happened if the police officer wasn't actually there. In these cases, the police officer has actually initiated the crime. They might aswell just tell a cop to do a skid and then do HIM for it. About the whole man locking himself inside the house thing, that's another ballpark in itself. I know that police are legally allowed to enter any premises they want if they feel that someone's life is in danger. Which is absolutely fine. I don't have a problem with that. Anyone that does is a douche. Quote
orangeLJ Posted February 3, 2012 Report Posted February 3, 2012 Those who remove their track cars from the trailers for the inspection are stupid themselves. The police can't legally make them ;) They can search the vehicle, but AFAIK they cannot legally make you remove the car from the trailer. And if they did ask, people should be smart enough to say "this is a roadway/road related area, I can't legally do that sir" Also, a "track car" shouldnt be regoed and would therefore not be defectable........ We unfortunately/fortunately (depending on the situation) don't have entrapment laws in Aus (well not like they do in the USA anyway) Cops geeing people up is bullshit, but honestly, dumb enough to get caught? you deserve it.
