WGMG are bogan morons who don't know $h1t about cars telling me that they want the blow off valve that makes *WOOOOOOOP DO DO DO DO DO DO* noise, kinda like a fluttering sound. Is it just me or is this noise the sound of your BOV being unable to flow enough gas, the compressor charge pressure wave bouncing back off the closed throttle body & causing your compressor to almost stall? 140,000rpm to almost 0rpm in a split second can't be good for turbine internals??

 

WGMG are Pre-Apprentice dickheads at trade school, yes I was like them (well not exactly like but close) too at one stage. But, if you want to wrestle & push each other & generally stuff around, do it outside the workshop AWAY from the guy practicing welding with an oxy/acetylene torch. Because when you crash into him, he will spin around in surprise/anger and the lit torch in his hand WILL set your stupid *insert sick brand name here* hoody on fire. He managed to get it off & stomp it out real quick & apart from a few singed hairs was uninjured. What really ground my gears was that a teacher came over & demanded that I apologise to the kid... I told him in no uncertain terms that he was dreaming if he thought that was going to happen. Got into a very heated discussion with the Course Coordinator about this, my demands for an apology from the kid for ruining my weld-run didnt go down well lol.

i agree most people like different sounds,

 

but cause mine has a map sensor and no AFM, with the boost controlled by the ECU, my wastegate makes the flutter sound under vacuum and being a ball bearing turbo,

 

and on boost its combined with my Type 2 Turbosmart BOV and the flutter,

 

it is annoying but if you shift right what it sounds good,

 

but yeah i can't get down the street without fluttering on and off the throttle

HKS SSQV give you a flutter sound on low boost opening.

I don't see what the big deal is with flutter anyway...I'm perfectly happy with the small sneeze the Snoarer gives off when you lift off the throttle or change gears in-boost. Hektic flutters from the pigeons under the bonnet do nothing but attract the wrong kind of people, and the cops too.

Been lectured by a 17yr old who was adamant that his cousins VL Turbo came from the Holden factory with the RB26 now sitting under the hood is not cool :n:

 

I've seen many a VL/R33/WRX pulled over & get towed away later due to yellow stickers...guess the attention they got wasnt the attention they were seeking! *engine roars, tyres squeal, woot do do do do, engine roars, tyres chirp, whoop whoop, lights flash, cars pull over* :fuzz: Gave me a good laugh though :lolcry:

This is interesting, I have not been pulled over at all in my car, and have been on the moggil ferry with a bike officer next to me, sat at the lights next to traffic police, just driving normally that is

 

I spoke to one officer at the BP as he wanted to have a look, and i quizzed him, and he said that it looks properly done and would not bother, (got better things to do)

 

is it cause i have NT plates on my car they don't bother?

I have had road registered race cars and modified cars for over 20 years now. Was pulled over twice in the early days (yes, I deserved it too....) but have never been pulled over in Qld, and probably haven't been pulled over in 15 years. Why? Because if I have to drive them somewhere, I don't drive like a tool.

 

Carbonboy, you're a better man than I. I can Mig, Tig and Arc, but I can't oxy to save myself. I have NEVER had the knack to do it.

I can get the same effect by unplugging my factory BOV.

 

The pigeon noise is just the air slowing down through the turbine blades. "Apparently" it doesn't cause damaged and is much more noticeable with a POD filter.

 

Personally I think its huge wank factor and have done it once for shits and giggles but didnt have the same effect as hektik VL's.

 

If you want flutter, block your BOV. Simple.
