Redwarf Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 Mines the same, eats batteries. Actually grabbed it this arv to take a few pics and they were flat. Went to change them and the old batteries had leaked.... They were Duracells. Fortunately after a clean out and some new batteries it still works fine. Meaning to buy a new camera as mine must be 5 years old now. I feel your pain. I had a set of duracells leak in my work MagLite last week. MagLite now in bin. :D Quote

Redwarf Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 I used the maglite as a back up when my good torch ran out of charge. This is what I use mostly: http://www.streamlight.com/product/product.aspx?pid=12 and my new backup: http://www.ledlenser.com.au/2009/ENG/produ...ie/p7.php?id=p7 Working permanent nights, you appreciate a good torch. :D Quote
7shades Posted April 2, 2010 Report Posted April 2, 2010 I have a lenser in the toolbox... And Mr. Maglite lives down beside the driver's seat close at hand lest anyone requires a fractured skull or non-functioning kneecaps at short notice. Quote

And Mr. Maglite lives down beside the driver's seat close at hand lest anyone requires a fractured skull or non-functioning kneecaps at short notice. When i bought my corona i found a cut down pool cue that may have been used for that by the previous owner. The batteries for my Snap-on torch costing $16 a pair, What a rip and i can't find rechargeable batteries in photo size so i now have one of those cheap rechargeable lights *sigh*. The Snap-on torch has been dropped in oil, Wedged in dual wheels of a semi for 300m, Run over and thrown across the workshop and still works great when the batteries arnt dead. Quote
7shades Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Removing the heater core from a Volvo 740. There's a running joke in the Volvo community that they built the entire car around that core... Its not far from the truth. Quote

Doesn't look as bad as an E3* BMW where every part of the dash has to be removed. BMW Dash Removed Edited April 4, 2010 by Trev Quote

Its not far from the truth. Looks like fun... NOT! I think it is a common manufacturing process with euro cars. Euro cars are a pain, wanting to put an amp in my E32 for the front splits, was thinking under the passenger seat which isn't going to happen. There are 4 electric motors plus a shitload of wiring in the way. The drivers seat has the motors plus a computer for the electric seat and mirror memory positions. Man theres computers and fuse/relay boxes and crap spread out through the whole car. Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted April 4, 2010 Report Posted April 4, 2010 Reminds me of when I got my headlining done in the 102, one of the guys working there was a mate from primary school so spent most of the time chatting, apparently Jags are the worst cars in the world to do headlinings in as they have to be done INSIDE the car - the doors are too small to get the board out. They actually have to put the headlining in on the assembly line before the windscreen is added, as that is the only way to get it inside. Quote

Currently watching Wheeler Dealers on Discovery Turbo (foxtel) and they are tidying up an old xjs 2 door, One of the jobs was to do the hood lining and I reckon it only just got out of the passenger side door. If it only just comes out of an XJS, then a sedan would definitely be next to impossible. Quote
