dfunkt Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Want some new rear shocks for my E32. Best price I can get from within AU is $700 through some Euro mob, Pedders want $900 (not fitted). Both prices are for Bilstein Blacks which are just a standard OEM spec shock. I can get Boge/Sachs (proper oem as fitted in factory by BMW) for $305 delivered to my door from the US. Bilstein HD's for about $400 odd also from the US with postage. Shits me how local mobs have so much markup trying to be so greedy. I'll be sending my cash offshore. Hope the local mobs go bust. make sure you let them know about it too. Quote
Evan G Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 WGMG - a couple broken down at the servo so i asked the bloke "you need a hand mate?" AND HE IGNORED ME? UHHHH WTF (since a couple were nice enough to stop when my ke55 was stopped on the side of road, i thought i mite aswell return the favor) Quote
Felix Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 make sure you let them know about it too. LOL. I laughed at the dude from Pedders. I didn't even worry about contacting the local BMW stealership. A while back I was after a brake bomb (hydraulic pressure accumulator sphere for the hydraulic brake booster system, like a vacuum brake booster but stores 15 brake pumps of pressure with the motor not running), they wanted over a grand for the bomb and the two pressure switches. Got them from some other place for $330 delivered. Couldn't get it from overseas as they are hydrogen filled and cosidered hazardous for air shipping. Quote

Thats one expensive way to boost the brakes, now isnt it. don't get me started on what the H31 booster itself costs new. Quote
Kid-Ae Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 What REALLY Grinds My Gears.. Whinging fkn Year 12's that complain that they think they have f'd their exams.. I happen to be completing Year 12 this year.. I also managed to maintain my social life AND study AND work. Maybe if those whinging pricks didn't have it so easy they would appreciate what they have.. They just go and blow their brains out every weekend and it beats me how they wonder how they will survive in the real world working their entire lives part-time. Look, I'm all for having a good time and letting loose now and again, but you'd honestly think people would knuckle down just for a short period of time to make sure they don't have to work their arses off for the rest of their lives. Ugh.. However i must make a compliment (strange thing to do in this section) To Box Hill Hospital. For the way in which they saved my father recently from dying and really did a wonderful job looking after him. Thankyou. Quote
Felix Posted November 8, 2009 Report Posted November 8, 2009 Thats one expensive way to boost the brakes, now isnt it. don't get me started on what the H31 booster itself costs new. Definitely. Awesome (super compact) setup when working properly, hideously expensive to replace parts. would be great (apart from cost) as a retrofit for engine conversions to free up firewall space. I could have got the whole setup from a euro wreckers for $300, but would rather just fix things properly as needed. You using it still Matt? Saw you were playing with it in your old littleredspirit thread to clean up the firewall for more space. Quote

Mind you somehow people classify me into the bunch that apparently have life in school easy etc. Mind you they don't know what they are on about, for me year 12 isn't that hard in simple terms because I refuse to let it take me over. Also good to hear about your dad being treated well. Edited November 9, 2009 by Tume Quote

WOW (crawls back into cave ) There was a time where it was 41* in the shade and only then the HR guy came around with ice blocks. We have found if you don't stand in the sun (or furnace) and eat it, it wont melt in 2 seconds  Quote
