godlovesugly Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 What a great attitude to have??? I deal with people like you everyday that then genuinely get sick and don't have any leave to cover it. Have you thought about that ever happening to you?? i do see your point but i don't work for a massive multi national with a bunch of procedures to follow, i work for an ex pro rugby player who actually has common sense and i can guarantee that he knows that I'm not sick most of the time, he always makes smart arse comments about how i am only ever sick on mondays. i also have 2 months holidays up my sleeve and without that i would never let the sick days get down to zero, but while ive got some holidays up my sleeve I'm going to use those sick days. its not like I'm being paid a fortune so i need to take any benefit i can find Quote
Grifty Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 WGMG- is when people use their credit card to pay for small items like milk and bread, seriously is it THAT hard to carry around a $20 note?? it just really fustrates me when i have to wait a while inline at woolies because some bitch wants to use her creidt card to pay for milk... towe001 Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Cause it makes her look rich and famous. Either that or she did what i did one time and forgot what my pin number was to my spendings card..... Quote
BReNt Posted April 8, 2009 Report Posted April 8, 2009 Why not use a credit card?? Sometimes it can be quicker? But by using the credit card that person is using the banks money to pay for the shopping whilst their money could be invested in other things earning interest. The interest earned from from using the credit card instead of their own money can be put towards paying off credit card when it comes time to... Free milk and bread?? Every dollar counts.... LOL. Quote

BReNt Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Pistachio nut farm haha. Lol just pay off the credit card on time and not pay interest. Quote
orangeLJ Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I don't know the pin to one of my debit mastercards... so If I use it I just click credit and sign for it, much better  and credit cards are wonderful if you have the money to pay them off straight away. Its people who use it as a monetary extension that f@$k up. Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 and credit cards are wonderful if you have the money to pay them off straight away. Thats how my parents use theirs. Only got their first credit card a year or two ago, but they've had bank-cards for years, and they've always been paid off within the interest-free period. Don't even think my parents have been in debt of any kind (including credit) since they paid off the house back in the late 70s Quote
7shades Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Visa Debit FTW No debt, same convenience... mind you I only use it when I'm overseas. Day to day, I'm all about cash. Nothing like a big wad of the real folding stuff to get someone's juices flowing when it comes time to make a deal... Quote
Xany Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 I used to be about cash....until i got my wallet stolen from my previous work place with about $140 in it. Now i never have more than $40 in my wallet unless i'm buying something second hand. Yes i agree visa debit is a great thing  Quote
love ke70 Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 cash sucks. i never carry it. whats the point, u just end up with a whole bunch of heavy shiny shit worth f@$k all Quote
7shades Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 cash sucks.i never carry it. whats the point, u just end up with a whole bunch of heavy shiny shit worth f@$k all which accumulates in the ashtray, and then you empty that ashtray every week into a bigger receptacle, and then every 6 months or so, you take that receptacle down to the bank, let them put it through their coin counting machine... And then buy some flights to Japan. Quote
bLinded_ Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Couldn't agree more ^^ I have a jar at home with about $150 worth of shrapnel which came about from emptying my wallet after each night at the pub. I think it is a good way of saving money that would have other wise been spent of useless stuff. Probs not enough to get a flight to Japan though... Quote
7shades Posted April 9, 2009 Report Posted April 9, 2009 Well the trick is to only ever pay for stuff with notes, and never spend the coinage you get as change. (except on parking meters) its a pretty good method of compulsory saving... I usually accumulate close to a grand every 6 months Quote
