Because as an engineer you know that you can do pretty much everything better than everyone else. Improvements can always be made. Its a curse:( 1 Quote

Cat knocked the keyboard tray off the computer desk the other night right before I was about to start cooking dinner.....of course I cancelled all cooking plans and spent the next half hour trying to pop little ball bearings back into the runners - did I stop when I got the bare minimum 4 back in? Of course not, I had to make sure that all 16 found their home properly so that it would slide smoothly Quote

carbonboy Posted January 19, 2013 Report Posted January 19, 2013 WGMG - My Windows 7 computer decided to fully crack the $h1ts & wouldn't even boot up. So, open the case, rip the guts out & replace it with my old Windows XP system. I got so attached to Win7 in such a short time..... :( Am now saving for a new system. *sigh* Quote

LukeAE71 Posted January 21, 2013 Report Posted January 21, 2013 Corolla owners!!! Yes I realise where I am but...... Especially owners of old ones like KE20's and the like. I am wrecking a couple and you get enquiries for overrated parts for interior etc. When are they going to realise that these cars are 40 years old and if you want overrated interiors etc you may actually have to part with some hard earned in order to get things retrimmed. I know Corollas are meant to be cheap but come on.... I just paid $400 for a pair of NOS tail lights for mine..... why??? Because they are worth it Stop being tight arses people Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) Brake hoses. Why the ʞ©$ɟ do they ALWAYs have to be seized. A 20min job just becomes impossible. Also if someone has a trick to do it hola. I've tried pretty much method written on the internet. Edited January 26, 2013 by It's_AUDM_Yo Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 Go to plumbing shops and get some of the awesome anti seize shit that they use on galvanised pipes. Had some when I wrecked the ra40 and a rusty ae86 halfcut a few years back and it was just incredible. Cost about $40 though, but what at price your knuckles and time? Quote
ke70dave Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 grab yourself one of these for brake hoses http://www.comparestoreprices.co.uk/images/sy/sykes-pickavant-brake-pipe-spanner-7-16-x-9-16af.jpg and no taking a normal spanner and cutting it with an angle grinder doesnt work, I tried that. so the i had to buy 2 spanners...... Quote
It's_AUDM_Yo Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 I have flare nut spanners but its slightly stripped from the last person putting braided lines on. So they don't work. I'll try and get some anti seize stuff. Quote
rian Posted January 26, 2013 Report Posted January 26, 2013 (edited) -Cut brake line near fitting -Place six point socket over the top -Undo fitting -Dispose of shitty old rubber brake lines -Replace with braided brake lines because they are better and often cheaper than rubber ones (edit: just read that you already have braided lines, have fun cutting those lol) OR -Buy a set of quality single-hex type crows foot wrenches Edited January 26, 2013 by rian Quote
