At the end of he day a t50 is a rubbish box compared to a w55/7/8, which often go for less money.

WGMG - Either having time and no money or money and no time. Its like I can't have both. I probably wouldn't know what to do with them if I did.

I've missed out here a bit, was looking at Marvis' T50 the other day and lost it, laughed my freakin arse off. Those JDM fags are getting realllly bad now. T series' are becoming a joke, the tailshafts to suit them are even more of a joke. And then you can mate it all to your 600 dollar T50....Come on man, it's a T50..

My fourite thing to see is people paying mroe for 30yr old parts, when they could buy brand new or custom made ones for the same price or a slight margin.

the tailshaft one is great, see genuine 30yr old JDM AE86 tofu delivery van tailshafts that have been sitting in the rain for 6months with rusty yokes that wont seal for $300.

brand new custom made 1 peice balanced tail shaft with brand new yokes can be had for around $400.

or clutch master and slave, soft and hard hydraulic line off a JDM ae86 tofu delivery van that have been sitting in the rain for 6 months.

you can buy the whole lot brand new, with an ADR approved braided line for less than what they ask for it

but people still buy this old buggered 2nd hand stuff!!!

that $600 thrashed T50 (driven for 2 drift sessions) is about as bad as it gets.

Marvis is a douche, plain and simple. He seems to take it as a personal insult when people don't buy genuine JDM rims and go for Rotas/Konigs/BSAs etc, he thinks that his JDM AA63 Celica (that's right, 4A-powered) is absolutely shit-hot even though a decent 18RG would leave it for dead, he can't take criticism of any kind, thinks Boso is the ultimate in auto styling...the list goes on. Fortunately he's gone quiet on Toymods of late, but there was a time when he was gettting into arguments/shit-fights just about every other day because he couldn't get off his high-horse.

$600 each eh?

Guess I'm sitting on a goldmine.... I have 6 of the things, 7 if you include the one that pops out of 4th gear. 10 if you include those currently installed in vehicles.

brb getting my toilet gold plated for lulz

Bahahahahahaha!

Yeah Reed. The fake wheel argument is no longer an argument. They have no legs to stand on. Pretty much every way you look at it, the fakes are the way to go. Unless you have the money and don't mind spending it. If I had the money I'd buy genuine wheels but only to be a dickhead. Like I don't mean the JDM fag kind of dickhead but just me buying them purely because I could kind of dickhead.

Their arguments on why genuines are better are garbage and they have no real reason for defending them so much other than being a fanboy tool.

Dave, the tailshaft business is ridiculous. Was going to try and piece together a shaft for my W series with an RA65 front half and 86/T18 rear. Scrapped that idea in favour of a custom. Almost same price but brand new.

Hiro,

I agree, Marvis is a total douchebag hahaha

My god, I've finely gotten past JiP :|

Getting sick of the fake wheel argument.

 fake wheels ?

As in made from plastic ?

:harhar:

Marvis is a douche, plain and simple.

Goes to show just how often i get on to '86 driving club forum. Don't remember coming across him on toymods.

86DC Can be good for certain bits of information. And occasionally parts (when Marvis and co. aren't selling them) 4A conversion gear ie. Crossmembers seem to for fair prices but the pedalboxes...Man..that's another rant itself..

The fake wheel argument is over because they're not fakes. They are "inspired by" or "copies of", but fakes imply that Rota etc are trying to pass their wheels off as Enkei, BBS, Volk etc (apart from the stupid RAVS Vork stickers on some of the BSA wheels, to be fair), which they aren't. Half the JDM wheels are styled after other wheels etc anyway (look how many JDM copies there are of BBS LMs for instance).

Fake, copies. Same shiz. And I totally agree with you. The forged vs cast argument is gone. Most brand name wheels are cast nowadays anyway and there's nothing wrong with them. They can't have any other reason than fanboy points. It's not possible to.

Like I said. I would buy "genuines" if I had the money to. But purely because I could. Nothing else. And I won't stand there defending them to the death and writing off people that buy Rotas. I'll be rocking copies til then hahah
