I was really annoyed today and every time I drive behind a tip truck that had stones bouncing out of its tipper!! I JUST RESPRAYED MY FRONT END AND IT CURRENTLY HAS NO STONE CHIPS!!!! andro0o Posted September 7, 2008 Author Report Posted September 7, 2008 personally i think you are being nieve, lets hear from the parents on rollaclub? don't all you parents out there wanna to give your kids the world, if you had the money to accomodate your childs wants your gonna do the best thing by him/her. i persnoally think it may be taken over board, kids these days need to get motivated to work for their money not having it handed to them. i know this best, as some of my best mates have been given everything from s15s to 350z's to is200s to audis to m3s, whilest i work 7 days a week trying to rightfully earn my way in life. as unfair as it is, i even know within myself i would give my son everything i couldnt have, i would want him to have a better life than i had. my 2 cents anyhoo. Whilst the fat cats and silvertails in Sydney get the F1 live in all it's HD glory, we're stuck with either watching a touristy video of Bathurst or whatever country backwater that has the prettiest trees for god-knows how many hours straight, with worse music than an Indian elevator. Damnit I want 10 HD, and I want it now. If only for the F1 live and the fact that Ten are now broadcasting the NFL, but only on HD. Pricks. Quote

Today's gray hairs are from... Why do I follow the road rules?? Everyone else with no passengers abuse the T2 lanes. Then there is the lights for the Freeway to stagger the entry. Why do I stop for them, seems no one else does!! They don't seem to be policed either. The fixed Speed camera... Traffic slows down almost to a complete stop as you pass though then speeds back up to 100. For some reason I think you would be right going through at 100 or even 95, not 10!! Oh and when I'm sitting in traffic, the last thing I wanna see is the couple in the car infront making out. PAY ATTENTION AND MOVE!! Oh, NO!!! ANOTHER CAR SLIPPED INFRONT OF YOU!! There is a time and a place. try Mt Cootha and take your hands off his gear stick!! Then there is a truck parked and blocking one lane on a three lane rd during peak hour... just to make congestion a bit worse. This was just on the way to work today, I stopped noting the many things that kept upsetting me after. I can see why Garfield HATES Monday's!! I would rather a pie in the face as I leave the house just to know my day was going to piss me off!! Quote

I want to give my boy the world but at the same time i'd want him to be able to know whats its like to earn it though blood, sweat and tears I'd sooner have my son buy an old car and fix the thing up to get it on the road. Learns what its like to have a car etc etc. Then if he wants to move up to a newer model well its up to him.... SoulSearcher Posted September 8, 2008 Report Posted September 8, 2008 As a parent, I want my kids in a safe car...when my daughter turned 15 we started talking about cars, and did she want to do a rebuild, so it was ready for when she got her licence, thereby knowing that all the work, she had a hand in, and therefore it was more personal and would take more care of it...we started looking for a fastback celica (which was really, really impossible to find) and the project stalled. When she turned 17, we started talking about alternatives... she didn't know, but I'd narrowed it down to either: A Mitsubishi Lancer, and a Honda CRX, both under 5K. We wanted her to have a reliable car, which looked cool, that had potential to be kitted up when she'd had more experience driving... I would NEVER, EVER buy a young adult, P plater, anything high powered. Lesley :D Quote

Work today was made a bit difficult because the chippies that built the walls in the unit we are working in did a CRAP job. The walls aren't anchored and move, one wall was missing studs and the batons that the ceiling sheets screw to were loose. They must have a really hard job... Lease Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 I would just like to have a quick rant about how much females get ripped off by dodgy mechanics. I live in darwin right. And when my car was on the truck from sydney the people couldnt get it to start in adelaide to get it on the next truck. And fair enough, it wasnt the truckies problem so i called up a mobile mechanic to go and see whats the go. He got there eventually, called me an hour and a half later saying, "ahhh ya motahs buggered mate. Needs a new one. *phone cuts out* oil all over the spark plugs *phone crackles* low compression in all pistons, it's basicly fuked mate." and i was like. "So you've tried everything? You can't even get it turning over???" "Nah not a chance mate it's buggered ay." So i had to pay autotrans another 700 bucks (ontop of the 1515 bucks I was already paying) to get it put on the truck that carries undrivable cars instead. It gets here... jump start it... starts immediately.... Compression test... 150 across the board. Spark plugs? New! :dance: Quote
