Glennyboy Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Hi guys, Having a bit of a problem with my heater? When I have the heater on, it feels as though the temperature is set at half even though the slide bar was way across in the red section. I had it on for half an hour on full, with the temperature set on red (hot) and it was blowing out warmish air not as prevoiously done before. I am pretty sure the air fan heater thingy is where the globebox is (around that area), do you think there is a problem with that unit or could there be something wrong somewhere else? Thanks! Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Just trace all the control lines back from the switchblock and see if they work fine, failing that, buy an ae71 and pull the heater out. Heaters are pains in the ass, so have fun pulling the dash apart. Quote
MRMOPARMAN Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 if you have pressurised high volume water available to you (ie mains pressure through a garden hose) disconnect the heater hoses and run water through one side, then the other.. you'd be suprised how much gunk can come out of there. make sure the heater is on full hot too, so the heater tap is open. if it all blows back and wont go through the other side, you'll have a blockage, or the heater tap isnt opening up properly. check the heater tap, if thats open all the way and not blocked up you'll probably have to take the heater box out and dip the core. Medicine_Man Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 My guess would be on a blockage too, The hot water has to flow through the heater core. If you have a blockage then it is not going to heat up properly and the blower box is not going to have much hot air to blow out the vent.. Quote
