Hiro Protagonist Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 It's the old Toyota logo (back when they changed the name from Toyoda because the logo had a lucky number of strokes when you wrote it) Quote
78_7kRolla Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 i thiught you were meant to read it the other way up, so it sort of spelt TEQ. I thought it might of stood for something. meh. hope somebody can shed some light on this Quote

The original company name was Toyoda (it was a family name), but Toyota had the lucky number of strokes in it's characters, so thats supposedly why the name was changed The actual katakana looks like this Quote
Nitephyre Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 Bingo. Also, I believe this has been covered numerous times on the intarweb :y: Quote
Raven Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 Thats cool and all, but I never knew what the old Logo meant, so I've learnt something from this thread :y: Quote

Hiro Protagonist Posted July 31, 2007 Report Posted July 31, 2007 They still use that logo on alot of forklift stuff and not just the keys. Thats because they still use K-motor stuff in them....which is old enough to still have the old logo on it Quote
