toyota_ae71 Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 hey ive just brought a 1984 ae71 and have been told that some ae86 parts would fit the ae71 and i am in need of new suspension and wanting to no if the ae86 1984-85 shockers would fit my car Quote
Medicine_Man Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 The KE70s came out with 2 different size inserts for the front struts. Not sure if the AE86 ones are the same, But you can get a set of ae86 struts and steering arms and bolt them in... Quote
mitch13 Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 AE86 front struts are different but interchangable as said above. Rear is the same. Quote
LittleRedSpirit Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 grab a tape measure and go to the wreckers, its amazing what kind of combos you can come up with. You could try xt130 corona lcas if youd like a mild amount of negative camber. Go hard on the search tool too. Quote
7shades Posted July 29, 2007 Report Posted July 29, 2007 Standard KE70 strut inserts are 43mm, AE86 are 51mm. Quote
toyota_ae71 Posted July 30, 2007 Author Report Posted July 30, 2007 thanks for all the info but would all ae86 struts fit on the front or what Quote
Medicine_Man Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 But you can get a set of ae86 struts and steering arms and bolt them in... But I already gave you the answer? Quote
Trev Posted July 30, 2007 Report Posted July 30, 2007 If you put the AE86 struts in you will also have to change the strut tops. Quote
Luckie_Steve Posted August 20, 2007 Report Posted August 20, 2007 why bother with AE86 suspension when i hear that S13 nissan style coilovers will bolt straight into an AE71 with very little trouble :P Quote
