andro0o Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 (edited) someone asked me today and now i wanna know the answer myself.... the question is... is it a loop hole if i engineer it and another state and bring it back to new south wales..? how does it all work..? sorry for the noobness of it all.... Redwarf Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 My understanding of it all is that the car has to be individually engineered in each state, as each state has differing rules. One engineering report is not acceptable, as an engineer maybe acceptable in say Qld, odds on they're not an authorised engineer to Vicroads. Hence, what's engineered in one state, may not be able to be rego'd in another. As far as I know, there's no loophole. Quote
andro0o Posted July 12, 2007 Author Report Posted July 12, 2007 unless i kept reregistering the car in qld or where ever else, or get a dodgy blue slip in nsw. so completely not worth it to listen to brap brap every day. i thought that was the case, thanks for clearing that up... Quote
Redwarf Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 No drama. I have one car that I re-rego'd from Victoria, and the other from Tasmania, and both cars had to go through the hoops to be rego'd in Qld. :) Quote
andro0o Posted July 12, 2007 Author Report Posted July 12, 2007 you bought a car from tasmania and your from qld!!! no wonder yoour a moderator your so corolla syked.... cbf for that mission. Quote
Redwarf Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Pre-prepared 2tg powered rally car. Some things are worth the effort. :) Quote
7shades Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Bah... If I wanna get a decent car its gotta come from at CLOSEST brisbane... a lazy 1800k drive to bring em home :) When I bring in an import, it gets complied in brissy, then I fly down and drive it back on a trade plate. I'm over the drive, but not having plates does make the trip go a little faster :) Quote
Jono Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 register it in someones name who lives in the state with the least engineering requirements. have any family interstate? works for a mate of mine. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted July 12, 2007 Report Posted July 12, 2007 Just move to tassie cobba. ;) .....what road rules!! :) :) Quote
ke13bt Posted July 20, 2007 Report Posted July 20, 2007 anyone have any experience with this is QLD, looking at the conversion myself... Quote
Redwarf Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 Talk to an engineer. Anything anyone here says may or may not be right. I've worked for one though, and I think you have Buckley's. *Disclaimer* I have often been known to be wrong. Quote
Fat Bastard Customs Posted July 21, 2007 Report Posted July 21, 2007 when i wanted to put a 13bt in my ke70, the only way to do it was to get it regoed in a state that allows it, then keep it regoed there for 4yrs then u are able to just transfer the rego to any other state, id check with an engineer if i was you tho Quote
