wasfishing Posted July 13, 2007 Author Report Posted July 13, 2007 The one that looks like the new camry?? Quote
ancullen Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Yep, that'd be it. A guy on RollaClub who lives down south has tried R32 rims on his new Corolla and they looked pretty hot, but just needed about another inch in diameter. And due to the RWD-style offset it made the car look fat, and gunmetal rims on a black/gunmetal car looked hot as! Quote

ancullen Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 What the f@$k is a zook??? :) I like the front of the new Corolla hatch, but HATE the rear. I saw a sedan on the street the other week and thought it was a Camry until it got a bit closer. The only really good thing about the new Corolla is the motor, as it can be taken out to at least 2.0L (but it's REALLY long stroke if you do that) and it comes standard with a six speed now. The six speed is the same series as the five speed used in all FWD Corollas, and I think it's almost exactly the same as the one used in the last Celica, Corolla Sportivo, and AE111 Sprinter/Levin. Quote
ancullen Posted July 13, 2007 Report Posted July 13, 2007 Different bellhousing of course, but the internals should be swapable. I've even heard that the six speed internals can be put in most (possibly all) C-series five speed cases. That rules your MR2 out though Shane - it's should have an E-series as it's the supercharged one. The N/A model had the C-series. Quote
wasfishing Posted July 14, 2007 Author Report Posted July 14, 2007 Dam u adam i would love 6 speed how cool would that be, and a zook is a suzuki serira Quote
ancullen Posted July 15, 2007 Report Posted July 15, 2007 We might be getting a "Zook" with a Toyota motor - I think it's probably going to be a 4K. Quote
wasfishing Posted July 16, 2007 Author Report Posted July 16, 2007 i thought they all had toyota motors, i dunno well if u see a cheap one ill buy it motor can be stuffed ect (4ag time) Quote
ancullen Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 Nah, the early ones had a two-stroke engine of some kind (like the one we might be getting used to have), eventually they came with the G13A or G16A motor. The advantage of this is you can swap the G13B head onto the G16A bottom and make a 1.6L Swift GTi motor. Or take go with the 4A-GE option, which also gives heaps of grunt. I have to wonder about a G16B though, as the G13B had 100kW in Jap spec from a 1.3L, so a 1.6L version should make about 123kW - that's 20v or 4A-GZE power! Quote
wasfishing Posted July 16, 2007 Author Report Posted July 16, 2007 kool but I'm gunna turbo it, so which model does the 4age bolt straight into? Quote
ancullen Posted July 16, 2007 Report Posted July 16, 2007 I don't think there's a big difference between any of the models. I don't know about bolting straight in either. I haven't researched the swap myself, but the info will be out there if you're keen to look. Quote
wasfishing Posted July 16, 2007 Author Report Posted July 16, 2007 fine ill do it myself  Quote
