andro0o Posted July 5, 2007 Report Posted July 5, 2007 your fuking awesome^^^ i really like how you've done the chrome hubcaps on that first picture, its very realistic. i have no idea about colour and i can't draw cars or any objects for that matter so definately envious. hb on printer paper, only looked good cause cause i fuked with the colour on photoshop. charcoal on art paper, was meant to be very ambigous, it was supposed to convey suicide, though my art teacher thought it was someone jumping on the tracks after a train was leaving to pik up his lottery ticket. i dno people are weird. religion period + bored student = awesome manga dude. she sat across from me in art back in the skool days, i was randomly syked for her one day and so yeah :) enjoy. mikeys toy[RL] Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) Damn! I wish I could draw that well These are from a graphic novel I started writing when I was 11. I've started re-writing it as a straight novel. this page is from when I was age 11/12 this is from the last book when I was age 16? Edited July 6, 2007 by mikeys toy Quote
JiP Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 I liked to draw cities and theme parks in high school. In year 11 I started a drawing which i worked on though out my senior years. Its far too big to scan so here's a photo... Its 21 A4 pages. 3 x 7 Wheres Wally?? No, seriously, he's in there. I use to play a game where I'd get my mates to name something, anything to see if I've go it in the drawing. I usually had it. Other people in my year were also jealous and tried stealing and threatened to torch it cause they were "COOL". Basically what you see i did in one year, and since its done in pacer lead i spent the next re-lining it in. So sadly Wally isn't too clear I also had a sketch book from year 11/12 where I designed theme park rides and roller coasters. I can't say that I got much work done in class. But that's somewhere in my room. Other than drawings i excelled in pottery. Mainly making small cars/paper weights. I think i made about 7, 5 of which were stolen. Sounds like my shit was in high demand. Quote
JiP Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 Oh and i reproduced a major section of the drawing for my senior paintings. There are four paintings in total which are 70cm x 50cm each. Quote
ancullen Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 That's awesome! Definitely something that needs to be seen up close though - that photo just can't do it justice. Quote
teza40 Posted July 6, 2007 Author Report Posted July 6, 2007 Kewl, like i said the talent is there for sure. mikey those early car sketches remind me of how i started out drawing cars. jon neat job and good imagination on that style. cheers terry Quote
ancullen Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 I only ever used to draw Star Trek ships (yes, I'm a former Trekkie). Some were okay, some were crap. And I only did technical style drawings of them, with side, top, and occasionally a front on view. Quote
JiP Posted July 6, 2007 Report Posted July 6, 2007 (edited) Well, its gotten me in the mood to pull out some of my artworks that I have hidden in my room. Firstly... In year 12 I did this sculpture. I teacher wouldn't let me make the mid sized piece a money box so i disguised it and converted it after. :) I had almost 10 model cars. All hand painted. This one was my second last and was the best. Sadly i chucked some out and packed the rest away after my little cousin came over while i was at school and played SMASH SMASH with them. Sadly i lost interest and even worse was my final car, Elanor (a Mustang) She was never completed. Now. These are my senior paintings. They didn't have to join up but i wanted them to. They all had to be in different mediums. First, top left painted. I spent countless hours on these paintings. I even rode my bike home some days while carrying them (One at a time). None of them are finished but i still got A's due to the fact that my teacher saw how much time i gave to completing them, countless lunch hours. Now here's the first panel. McDonald's. If the pic came out clearer you would see the fine writing i did on the pylon. Secondly, the apartment block over looking the park, storm water drain and subway while next to the corner shops. Lastly Pizza hut. Again, real fine work on the signage. Second panel. I may one day go back to this one and re-do/finish it off. In a rush to finish it I stuck a lot of magazine cut outs in the top corner. I like the shade sales and the roof of the shopping center but hate how the bordering has come off. Again, vandalised while left in the art room. 3rd panel had 3D. This 3D billboard was along the highway. Sadly it fell off while i was packing it away today. Here stood a sort of sculpture. It fell off and was lost but as i was putting these away I found it. I like how in this one I show the see throughness of the glass on the shopping center entrance. This is the sculpture that is ment to dangle over the rapids. the third leg is still missing. Just before I started my final piece I went to Sydney and saw Luna Park for the first time, so I was obsessed with it by the time I started this one. By this stage my attention to detail get better. Originally in that drawing this was a high school. But I think a theme park is way better. Hopefully some day I might finish it and remove what i never wanted on it.
