aecorolla Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 hey i don't really know too much about exhausts/mufflers and i was just wondering if this tiny hole in the muffler is supposed to be there? ive seen another ae82 with the exact same hole so idk. my mate and i were thinking just a small tac weld to cover it up? anyway just thort id ask to see if anyone has any idea.. thanks Quote
7shades Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 Nope, its rooted. As soon as you try to weld it you'll most likely make a bigger hole as the metal will be very thin due to the rust. Quite a common occurence, condensation builds up overnight inside the exhaust and then pools up in your muffler, rusting it out. Quote
aecorolla Posted June 27, 2007 Author Report Posted June 27, 2007 allright cheers for that. what do u recommend? is it worth replacing? Quote
7shades Posted June 27, 2007 Report Posted June 27, 2007 Well, the hole is only gunna get bigger so replace it once you can hear a noticeable difference. Its only a 15 minute job for any exhaust shop, most expensive part is going to be the replacement muffler. Or, you can whack one of those shiny ones from Autobarn on there cos they're cheap, but people will probably laugh at you :P Quote
aecorolla Posted June 27, 2007 Author Report Posted June 27, 2007 thanks for the help. i really hate people that just stick on a $90 muffler from autobahn it pisses me off so much especially when you can see the stock piping anyway ill talk to my auntie who owns a midas place. Quote
