Taz_Rx Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Hey guys, ok, everybody has seen a 7k motor, but who has actually seen one in its home!! being a KR42R twonace!! Took these yesterday and thought they might be handy for reference pics if anybody is ever working on a 7k, and wanted to know how something goes standard - if you can see it in the pics. Some may just be interested to see what a 7k engine bay looks like!! Note to ECU controlled dizzy as well! if you have the ECU to run it, this would be a better option to the over priced 5k electronic items. :P Quote
7shades Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 I also noticed the other day that the townace runs a 4x114.3 PCD... interesting little tidbit of info if anyone was looking for some chaser/inteceptor-esque rims on their rolla, though they'd be a bit heavy. Also I discovered the Townace has the same floorpan/chassis as the Kijang/Unser in Indo and Malaysia, which makes it infinitely easier for me to source alloy wheels direct from the factory in Indonesia as I can just specify Kijang stud pattern with 0 offset... Anyway... carry on Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 26, 2007 Author Report Posted June 26, 2007 I think the diff is the same as a ke55 one (except no sway bar), but don't quote me on that. If that van is still there this arvo, I'll take a couple of pics of the diff. I also have a few pics of the gear box if anybody is interested in seing that!? Quote
7shades Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Yes... GB and diff pics please... grab a shot of the build plate too if you can Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 26, 2007 Author Report Posted June 26, 2007 GB...... note the electronic speed sensor in the pic of the rear ext housing. this would probably be a really easy way to put an electronic speedo (as aposed to cable) in any old toyota!! :P the rear ext housing is also very similar to that of a W50. Quote
7shades Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Hmm... and by the looks, seperate bellhousing. I'm just wondering what series box it is... you'd have to expect it to be tough as nails being a commercial box and all... but I still wonder if that bellhousing could come in useful. K to what... hmmm Quote

Got one comin!!!!!!!!!!! :P Quote
Raven Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 As far as I remember, its a K to W bellhousing in those. Quote
beerhead Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 Gearbox is a G52 / G54 in the townace, this is the same as a hilux box which has the same W55-W58 9 bolt gearbox stud pattern. Quote
Jono Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 i have a kr42r townace, 2000 model, manual. i can take as many photos as you like. si, sorry i was slack and didn't take any of the gearbox as requested earlier, but i'll get off my ass now if needed. Quote
7shades Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 (edited) Sweet... think I have the gearbox questions sorted... whats the go with the diff in these things... also same as hilux perhaps? could be handy, already being 4x114.3 and all... Edit: ok, appears it is the same as hilux, not sure of ratios or width yet. Edited June 26, 2007 by 7shades Quote
