Buy yourself some sticky rubber for the front and some crap for the rear and you will be surprised at what a stocker can do.

You would be wasting your time buying a stock AE86 and modifying it from there. The AE71 is a 4 door AE86. Most mechanical parts are transferrable and luckily body parts are cheaper and more common. It would be cheaper to buy an 86 already modded. Than to purchase a car as well as add mods.

Ae71neo - if you like the 2 door theme, ever considered a 2 door ke7* / Ae7* / Te7* ?

But the AE71 vs. AE86 dillema is still in my head :P

KE70/AE71 have a stronger chassi to work with, in my opinion, my ke70 springs just need to be a little stiffer, and a tad lower just to cancel a fair bit of my body roll. nick can vouch for the body roll my car gets with its f@$ked suspension, i even believe matt may have a picture of my excessive body roll when cornering.. it was great when all my suspension was new though..

i'm looking into a similar set up as paul, RA65 struts with adjustable coilovers, going to need the bigger brakes with my engine conversion when i do it.

I have a pair of 15x7 Buddy Clubs with pirelli something on them. I put them on one day and it was amazing how different it felt, and the oversteer is much easier, but i still felt the suspension and lack of lsd was a factor. We can use your ae86 as example, 4ac stiff as suspension and that thing slides well. Does the T-18 rear end fit straight under the ae71 as it does in a ae86? Yeah I'm thinking poo...

Neo - (the T-18 rear end fit straight under the ae71 as it does in a ae86? Yeah I'm thinking poo...) - after doing reading, I'm pretty sure it does.
