SoulSearcher Posted June 21, 2007 Author Report Posted June 21, 2007 I was really careful with everything I put on the car, Toyota actually supplied and fitedt the Turbo Timer :jamie: The fault is still being investigated, I guess it will take a couple of days.... Lesley :o Quote
SoulSearcher Posted June 21, 2007 Author Report Posted June 21, 2007 I contacted Toyota this afternoon and the turbo's been taken off and sent to the people who serviced it last time, now we're waiting on them, no ETA as yet.... Lesley :jamie: Quote
turbo_rolla Posted June 22, 2007 Report Posted June 22, 2007 If they fitted the TT then there's nothing to worry about! :jamie: Hopefully they can get it sorted out for ya shortly so you're not without it for too long! :lolcry: I hope you're going to do some engine work to it once its out of warranty :o Quote

SoulSearcher Posted June 25, 2007 Author Report Posted June 25, 2007 I bought her with 49,000klms in Jan 06 and I'm up to 90,000 (I drive a lot :P Quote
ROL14_AE82 Posted June 26, 2007 Report Posted June 26, 2007 OH NO!!! Mines JUST gone 90,000... I don't know if this is a good thing or a bad thing!!! Quote
SoulSearcher Posted June 26, 2007 Author Report Posted June 26, 2007 I doubt you'll have any problems, as a rule corolla's (and just about any Toyota) will keep going, and going and going, I've just been unlucky :P Quote
ROL14_AE82 Posted June 28, 2007 Report Posted June 28, 2007 Yeah I know, all i've ever owned has been Toyota's, Seca's actually so I know how reliable they are. But just with this model and set up I'm keen to be on the ball with owners of the same model as there aren't thousands to compare to.. Thanks  Quote
SoulSearcher Posted June 28, 2007 Author Report Posted June 28, 2007 uhh, I called them today and they still hadn't heard back from the people they sent it to, so still waiting, on the upside, they did a service on my car, replaced a door seal and fixed the ABS light (it came on and the manual said take it to a Toyota Dealer - I did - and they said it was a fulty sensor). So all I need now is the turbo and I can drive it *LOL* Lesley  Quote
SoulSearcher Posted June 29, 2007 Author Report Posted June 29, 2007 ok, so I spoke to the Service Manager (SM) this afternoon (after unsuccessfully trying to contact him personally for the last three days). Car has been in the workshop for 9 days now. The SM said that he'd spoken to the Turbo Specialist who said my turbo is completely stuffed and needs to be replaced. However, that particular turbo is no longer available (surprise surprise). They're currently looking for other alternatives (and it's not looking good apparently). I suggested that I should have a choice in the matter and that I'd already done some research and that a Garrett Turbo is available for my car, but there a slight modifications, such as a custom made manifold that need to be changed, I also told him that for future repairs, having this Garrett Turbo would make it less expensive and parts will be readily available. I told him I'd already had a quotation (verbal) supplied for the work to be completed (roughly $3K) and he said if I could get the people to fax him a written quote of work to be done and parts to be used then he would speak to Toyota Extra Care and seek their approval. So I sent a fax to my guy (ASE) requesting that he supply Toyota with a quotation of parts/labour and modifications required along with the time it would take to do everything and I'm hoping that they can get that sent on Monday, then an answer from TEC by Wendesday then hopefully I can have my car back in 2 weeks with the new and improved turbo... If this all goes to plan, whilst it's in there I'll get the piping modified as well, chuck in a boost guage and investigate an easy way to change boost on the fly... (any ideas???). Lesley  Quote
Trev Posted June 29, 2007 Report Posted June 29, 2007 Sounds like fun and it also sounds as tho they are keen on the idea, What sort of boost change are you looking for, If you want a economy and power kinda option id just get a dual stage boost controller or if you wanna just wind the boost up and down just get an incabin tap. SoulSearcher Posted July 2, 2007 Author Report Posted July 2, 2007 I got an email from ASE, they've sent through a quote to Toyota, so tomorrow I'll call them and see what they say..... Quote
