Toy-Yoda[RL] Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 True that..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DZWy_fASSiQ...016&index=4 Whats the point of even having airbags if the dash crushes you into the seat!!! :D JEEEBUS, I've never seen a 4X4 fold up like that, it's unreal...... 99.9% chance to die, *note to self* Never drive in china...... Taz_Rx Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 There's always more than one way to skin a cat mate! :D Can you see this? http://video.google.com.au/videosearch?q=c...emb=1&aq=f# If so, just do google vids searches (which searches youtube) at work to get access to youtube. Quote

That's not a Chinese car though, it's a VW Transporter (T3). It just happened to have a 2-tonne load in the back and was travelling at 120km/h (despite what the video claims), and was being used to test the facility not the vehicle. Quote
orangeLJ Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I can see that one! thats a good thing to know about going through google videos, knew they were conencted, but didnt know I could get one on the other. Thats not the video though, this thing was a single cab, small flatbed truck (think of a miniature flatbed tow truck type thing) Quote

Sorry, that google link I put up wasn't the video I wanted, click on it and scroll down to the "chinese 4wd crash test" (Landwind). thats what I was talking about - re airbag/dash. :D Like I said orangeLJ - There always more than one way to skin a cat!! Any business that blocks its employees from google might as well just throw out their PC's!!! :P Now we just need to find you a back door for ebay!! Quote
orangeLJ Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 I can get to ebay via a proxy, but I don't like to use it that way (it makes it a pain to browse! haha) and I don't want to log in over a proxy! lol. Thanks heaps for that google videos thing, will come in very handy from now on! trademe.com.nz and oztion are still open, just not ebay! hahaha. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 While we're on the topic of crash test..... and cause I'm bored at work..... here's another one I find quite amazing. http://video.google.com.au/videosearch?q=C...emb=1&aq=f# (in google vids for orangLJ :P) I both the front on and side on impacts the safety cell is so strong the front windscreen doesn't even crack, let alone break!! :D Fifth Gear actually did there own test with one of these at 70mph and the safety cell holds up just as well!! ....although given the g-forces involved, survival is still basically impossible. http://video.google.com.au/videosearch?q=t...emb=1&aq=f# Quote
orangeLJ Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 That smart car one was on telly a while ago I think, I was sitting there thinking it was going to get absolutely murdered, but i was pleasantly surprised! Everytime I used to see one on the road, Id always contemplate how bad an accident between a large car/bus/4WD and a smart car would be, so it was cool to see. May not be out of the water with youtube! It will load most of the other videos from other sites (like daily motion etc) but wont load the youtube ones! I suppose I will have to rely on them finding me the videos I want on other sites (which is pretty much a given for anything worthwile watching these days) Quote
JiP Posted February 20, 2009 Author Report Posted February 20, 2009 The other day I saw some German news show my olds like to watch (they aren't German). Apparently the government or private companies in Germany (not sure which one) want to buy Opel from GM. But they said that GM doesn't wanna sell. I guess if they are going to go down they'll try to take everything with them. Quote
7shades Posted February 20, 2009 Report Posted February 20, 2009 Opel is the only division of GM who's r&d department produces cars people actually buy :P Quote
JiP Posted February 23, 2009 Author Report Posted February 23, 2009 I'll get in trouble for this but this is Trev being stuck in his shirt :) Corolla Sport?? Not that I can complain. I was parked near him and I have Toyota down the side of mine :P Well when I thought they PT Cruiser could be any uglier. They made a convertible. This is at Trevs Work. Looks MAD!! The alien force field. Is Fiat owned by Ford?? This Fiat looks like a Fiesta. Jap Sticker... My engine before... Engine after. BLING BLING Quote
Taz_Rx Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Thats a new Fiat 500 Jip, re-release of a semi cult car like the mini and bug. FYI, Fiat is an "owning" company, not an "owned by" company. Don't know if these still have all of these, but they used to own Lancia, Alfa and FERARRI!!!! Ever noticed this one the nosecone of an F1.... :hmm: Quote
67Rolla-Ken Posted February 23, 2009 Report Posted February 23, 2009 Hey Jip we've had the ugly PT convertable in WA for years, seems almost popular... I hadn't seen this thread since all the crash tests were posted, was freaky to watch after my wife was just in a high speed crash. As much as we both hated her astra work car, to impact head-on at 100km's so hard that the car didn't travel forward from the impact and have no major injuries and have the car still look normal from the front doors back... I'm very impressed. The windscreen didn't even break! All doors were still functioning properly, which is fortunate because it was on fire. Quote
7shades Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 All doors were still functioning properly, which is fortunate because it was on fire. I know it was no laughing matter, but that was the funniest thing I've read today :hmm: Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted February 24, 2009 Report Posted February 24, 2009 (edited) Thats a new Fiat 500 Jip, re-release of a semi cult car like the mini and bug. Bzzzzt - wrong. It's a Fiat Punto (the 500 is based on the Panda, the model below the Punto, and looks significantly different) Fiat Grande Punto (just called the Punto here) Fiat Nuovo 500 (just called the 500 here) Edited February 24, 2009 by Hiro Protagonist Quote
