I took the AE82 race car over to the dyno today and after an hour and a half of it on the rollers it let out a big zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzit and revved up more, This was the out come:

 

 

 

 

So Terry and i spent the night pulling out the box and replacing the flywheel (finally found one) and the car is a runner again which is good as its off to morgan park tomorrow.

 

P.S. That is the 1st flywheel that has ever let go that has been machined.

Nope, It was very thin but it has never posed a problem before, It has been around the track and on the dyno several times, Its just something else that happens.

Yeah it went straight back in the car as there is no time to gut the box and put it in another housing, Its a TRD special gearset and lsd.

it's near port elliot, on the victor road, it's finished now.... I couldn't believe it either....so I rang the builder and asked what happened to it.... you know what he told me? "it's supposed to look like that".... OMG! I have to go to Victor in the next week or so, I'll take a picture and post it.

 

It settled a bet, and cured my curiosity :bash:

Yeah it is meant to look like that. I think it was an architecture who decided to make something a little different.

 

Its being hovering at that stage for a while now, been waiting for it to be finished, as the end project would be something different.

 

Now that you say its finished Lesley . . . I should go a check it out :bash:
