rolla83 Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 like a time capsule...looks like it was done as a promotion for DX lubricants. i guess it was to see how they'd perform after sitting in a car for so long. In 1957 the car was buried to celebrate some special date (50 yrs of federation or something), it was a Brand new V8 Plymouth Sports Coupe dontated by the local car dealer, it actually had Zero miles on it. In 2007 it was to be dug up, 50 yrs later. They had a competition in 57 for them to guess the population of the town in 2007. The competition rules and a ton of entrants answers and addresses were sealed in a thick container along with plates and a flag n shit inside the car. Basically the deal is that in 2007 it would be dug up, the closest answer, the car and a $100 bank account with 50yrs interest went to the lucky person or their closest living relative. In the boot was a couple gallons of leaded fuel, some oil n shit incase fuel wasnt around today. Some other crap like womans shit in the glove box just to shut em up in 57 so they can be apart of it all i guess was included lol! (unpaid parking ticket as well) Over the 50 yrs the top cracked and let water it, in the 80's there was a flood that didnt help so the ol car got wet....... the rust ate the rear springs away, the original tires pumped up. In 98 they put another car in a container as well, above ground with dirt over it this time.... Quote
irokin Posted October 9, 2007 Report Posted October 9, 2007 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Plymouth_Belvedere#Buried_Car Would have been good if it survived in absolute overrated condition. Quote

JiP Posted October 12, 2007 Author Report Posted October 12, 2007 (edited) Been meaning to take this photo for ages. It says... Danger Military (Something, can't remember) Live Firing Do Not Enter. I just find it funny cause of the angle of the top of the fence with the barbed wire. Its not really stopping people from going in, its stopping soldiers from getting out. SoulSearcher Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 maybe you're on the wrong side of the fence...... LOL Lesley :D Quote
7shades Posted October 12, 2007 Report Posted October 12, 2007 A quick way to either change a clutch or kill yourself :D Now... if I'm not mistaken, thats a nissan patrol. If I'm even MORE correct, that large object he is welding or at least welding very close to, is the fuel tank. Run. Quote
