andrew Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 it's really up to your preference, but i saw one the other day in matt black and it looked sweet! chrome bumpers, not on a ke70 :) Quote
Redwarf Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 (edited) This is a genuine DX. Doesn't look too bad with chrome bumpers..... 04170003_vi.jpe Edited August 29, 2004 by Redwarf Quote
Felix Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 i would go for a factory paint colour, and make it so whatever you do to the car can be undone. this is so if and when you ever want to sell the car, you can return it to standard looking to give yourself a larger selling market. then you can keep or sell your good bits separately. you get alot more money back this way. this is just my opinion, you do as you please. Teddy Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 just make it look cool; personally i would go for a really nice darkish perl Red, with black hi-lights & Black tint. :) Quote
Savage Posted August 29, 2004 Author Report Posted August 29, 2004 LOL i must admit that has crossed my mind. after all red cars go faster :) but what about longevity. red cars seem the get the ar$e whipped by father time pretty quickly in my experience Quote
Redwarf Posted August 29, 2004 Report Posted August 29, 2004 (edited) I'd almost agree with that. My wifes AE101 is eight years old, and had an almost complete respray at 11 months old, courtesy of a barbed wire fence, and the paints now well trashed. Alternately, the Dwarf's paint is coming up 4 years old, and is, within reason, as good as the day it went on. *shrugs* Dwarf is painted in PPG Omni Bright Red, I'm looking to do Bluey in it, too. Go the ford Blueprint Blue I recon, also, stick with the standard black bars, chrome doesn't really suit a KE70.. Quote
ae71neo Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 umm i reckon the new ford green colour, would look tuff :) Quote
99 Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 There is but ONE colour.... I vote for red (but I am just as biased as Redwarf) Quote
Ruts Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 I reckon gunmetal looks great on any beast but the darker colours show dirt way too much - so if ya want a cleaner look go for the lighter colours like canary or good old arctic white with black detailing Quote
irokin Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 That ford green had better not be that baby shit colour. Who in their RIGHT minds would buy a car that colour. Your never gonna be able to sell it. It looks like shit. I'm gonna be painting mine white again...its just easy to keep the current colour. Quote
Felix Posted August 30, 2004 Report Posted August 30, 2004 yea ben, makes life a lot easier to stay the same colour. saves you having to paint the door jambs, dash (on ke1xs) and inside door tops on earlier cars. also the boot, engine bay and under the bonnet doesn't need to be done all at once. one of the worst colours for showing dirt is british racing green. i helped a friend paint his rx4 in it years ago. he had to wash the thing twice a week as it showed up dust so bad. dark colours look dirty really quick.
