13BT_KE20 Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 its pretty common for people to mount the motor 10cm to the left of centre in the engine to help with clearance issue when fitting a larger turbo. You could easily fit a S4/5 turbo, S4 being easier due to having a smaller exhaust housing, without having too many problems. These turbos on low boost can still make 150-170rwkw, which is more than enough for a little/light car............until you get use to it and want more power lol Supercharger would definitely make the car even more individual, but unfortunately its a bit of an unknown for most of the rotary community. When chasing reasonable power most will opt for a turbo Quote
Hiro Protagonist Posted March 24, 2009 Report Posted March 24, 2009 Whereabouts in Newcastle did you move into? Should keep an eye out for this around town once it's in action. Quote
tenyearguarantee Posted March 25, 2009 Author Report Posted March 25, 2009 (edited) I'm in the junction. Just yesterday i was drivin down glebe road and noticed a nice little sr coupe parked in some little garage. Does that belong to anyone here? Yeh i know turbo is definately the easier way to get good gains, and considering the money it'll cost to do the supercharger thing it wont be worth it in that sense. But in saying that ive never been one to take the easy way, plus i'll learn heaps more by doing it this way Edited March 25, 2009 by tenyearguarantee Quote

Does that belong to anyone here? You're just around the corner from me then, I'm up in Merewether on the golf-course. There aren't too many KEs running around town in good nick, most of them seem to have had hard lives and the minters are kept under lock and key so you rarely see them. Quote
tenyearguarantee Posted March 26, 2009 Author Report Posted March 26, 2009 i was looking up them ways for a rental for a while. This one is at the petrol station not too far from the brunker and glebe rd intersection. It looks like its been treated well for most its life. If i had the cash id go make him an offer. Quote

Yeah, it's sat there for ages, belongs to someone who works at the servo I think (those garages used to be Nova Auto Innovations, and the KE used to just get parked in the street or driveway in Bryant St). Looks in pretty good nick but I don't think it's an SR, just a normal KE35/55 coupe. Quote
