faulksy Posted September 25, 2007 Author Report Posted September 25, 2007 Long time last update. Thats probably as there's been pretty no progress. Had complications with my mechanic but hoping to have to it started again soon. Quote
faulksy Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 Finally some progress: - Hacked up engine bay wiring replaced and tidied up - Replaced GT30 with GT28 turbo and better designed turbo manifold. Bye bye GT30 and lag. But boy it was great when it came on boost though - Minor oil leak fixed - New alloy plate welded on plenum runners as didn't fit flush and leaked. Now have one piece of alloy instead of previous design which had mounted each runner individually. Work still needed to completed have on the road: - Front mounting an intercooler to replace the barrel. Still haven't decided what intercooler I'll end up using. Depends what fits. - Installation of a standard radiator to replace the alloy one and fitting super strut brakes - Relocation of the dry cell battery into the boot, allowing more room for intercooler plumbing - Dyno tuning new LT12 which replaces the MTX8. LT12 will allow for VVT to be connected up. I'm interested in seeing what difference this may make. - Bolting back on front panels and bonnet. Replacement of barrel intercooler and alloy radiator has allowed a normal bonnet latch to be connect. Previously had bonnet pins. Also hoping to fix up the paint if money permits but might just cut it back, polish for the interim and fix up later. Will try to get some new pics once the car is moved from its current location. The car is wedged between two others making it difficult to get any reasonable pics Quote
faulksy Posted October 15, 2007 Author Report Posted October 15, 2007 (edited) Here's a link of the motor/car in it's previous state for anyone interested http://forums.toymods.org.au/index.php?t=m...rt=0#msg_614991 Here's the old dyno results. You can see why I have replaced the turbo to improve mid range power Edited October 15, 2007 by faulksy Quote
