madrolla68 Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 TO4 are bigger arent they! pretty sure someone will correct me if i'm wrong! All depends what version T04 and T25 you are comparing guys. Quote
scrunny83 Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 T04 is a fair bit bigger than a t25 , t04's usually have a T3 flange , alot of rotors use them not sure what vehicle they come on as standard fitment or if they ever did but there are heaps of versions ranging from the old air reaserch to the newer garrett ones , and even the cheap ebay copies . to4's are usually externally gated too . the t25's are a garrett turbo that are standard fittment on alot of nissans eg S13 silvia /180sx , exa . most are the non ball bearing type and are internally wastegated . they range from about the 200hp mark right up to the newer garrett GT25 ballbearing turbo which can be rated as high as the 400hp mark . the most common engine they are found on is the nissan CA18DET or SR20DET . hope this helps Quote
c budge Posted June 4, 2007 Author Report Posted June 4, 2007 well i have a 3tgte and i have a top mount manifold with suits a to4 but i want to put a t25 on it with came off a sr20 Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted June 4, 2007 Report Posted June 4, 2007 The t25 would be a good size for your 3t, it is certainly not suited to max hp application but rather to 12psi to standard boost, and , with the extra boost, a noticeable increase to standard hp. you can buy a flange adaptor on ebay for about 160, personally i would just make one as it would be pretty easy. :bash: Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 5, 2007 Report Posted June 5, 2007 T04 is a fair bit bigger than a t25 - Correct, t04's usually have a T3 flange - they all do, alot of rotors use them not sure what vehicle they come on as standard fitment or if they ever did but there are heaps of versions ranging from the old air reaserch to the newer garrett ones , and even the cheap ebay copies . to4's are usually externally gated too - Not usually, they all do!. the t25's are a garrett turbo that are standard fittment on alot of nissans eg S13 silvia /180sx , exa - not exa, they have T2 turbo, which is different flange. most are the non ball bearing type and are internally wastegated* . they range from about the 200hp mark right up to the newer garrett GT25 ballbearing turbo which can be rated as high as the 400hp mark . the most common engine they are found on is the nissan CA18DET or SR20DET . hope this helps Just cleared up a couple of things. :bash: * all T25/T28/T25G/etc etc are internally gated. S15 and GTiR T28 are ball bearing. Another thing to note about T25/T28's is some of them have ceramic (rather than steel) wheels. These will part company with the turbo at around 15psi!! Seriously, if you already have a t04 mani for the 3t, use it. Is much bigger, and will be more drivable than the T25. Plus you have the potential to make a shite load more power. Quote
c budge Posted June 5, 2007 Author Report Posted June 5, 2007 so i should us a t04.. the mani has an externale gate mount 2.. so i think i will go with the t04 so if any1 has a good 1 let me know thanks ever1 Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 A to4 can be quite a large turbo, with many different housing sizes, be careful to get the right one, special attention being payed to exhaust housing size. Quote
Taz_Rx Posted June 6, 2007 Report Posted June 6, 2007 yeah good point. rotary spec'd T04's (in different trims, ie T04b, T04z etc) have friggen huge exhaust wheels due to the ammount of gas they pass. If you were to put one of these T04's on the 3t it'll lag all day!! :P Quote
c budge Posted June 6, 2007 Author Report Posted June 6, 2007 so i will go the t25 with a big front mount running 12 -14 psi on a topmount manifold i was hoping for around 150-160 Kws Quote
oh what a nissan feeling! Posted June 7, 2007 Report Posted June 7, 2007 In your situation, and presumably on a tight budget i would go a t3 off a r33 rb25 skyline, this will be best bang for buck, and is a t3 flange. If not on a tight budget, let us know, cos it only gets better. Quote
c budge Posted June 7, 2007 Author Report Posted June 7, 2007 ok i have got a t25 now and i gone and seen the guys and they are making a flange for the t25 to fit the t04 so it should be good and i got my inthercooler pro cooling 1 600x400x76 so shes all go Quote
scrunny83 Posted June 12, 2007 Report Posted June 12, 2007 actually taz rx the nissan exa's that came with CA18 have a t25's Quote
